I thought Hunter had played at 12 but maybe he hasn't. Harry Wilson hadn't had a professional game at 6 before last match had he? I feel shifting into 12 shouldn't be a huge issue but I'd understand the hesitation to be moving players around too much.

Valetini did knock it on. I don't think there should be wholesale changes either but we didn't win a winnable game and a few players didn't have great days. If they were rookies I'd not consider dropping them but the 3 biggest question marks for me were FF (Folau Fainga'a), To'omua and Simmons. I can't see how...

Your avatars confused me so much.

I don't want to seem spiteful but I genuinely think he had a poor game. General play was fine but he kicked away multiple attacking opportunities and he does it regularly. I've specifically watched him in Super rugby and am going back through the game currently too. In the first 30 mins he...

Yea I did and responded to it. I disagreed that attacking kicks are good for the sake of mixing it up. Clearly I don't disagree with the poor execution part but watching him throughout the year it doesn't look like something he is about to change. You also were responding to another post in...

He kicked it away 3 times in the first 30 while on attack, none of which were good. He just gifted them the ball, on every occasion there were better options, we had overlaps, were up against a broken defensive line and building pressure. No one else was aware he was kicking until he did...

I don’t agree at all. As an individual you are completely aware before the game that anyone is capable of running, passing or kicking. Any defensive structure takes this into account and has players sweeping behind to cover kicks. If anything the AB’s would be aware he kicks away a lot of ball...

I thought he was great, if he wasn't carrying well in traffic then who was? The other thing to consider about the lineout is that ours was very fresh, lots of new players, a new caller, new coaches and it was up against an already established and well performing lineout from the AB's...

I think the AB's will have a lot more upside with selections than us. McKenzie had a bit of a shocker and Clarke looked very good. We might really be able to give it them in the forwards though.

I saw LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) pack at 6 in one scrum, I can't remember but it may have been on attack. Then on D he was at 8, which makes sense since he offers more pushing at 8 and Samu is faster covering the flank. Edit: I also saw LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) cover Barrett out wide, just, while Samu got burnt on the outside at one...

I wouldn't mind seeing a Paisami/Petaia center combo at some point.

I don't want to just pile in on him but I wouldn't even credit Simmons with what you have there. He has never dominated set piece, never carried well and only rarely hits a ruck or tackle. I think he can do all that but he just hasn't ever with any consistency.

I mean, all controversy aside, that was one hell of an effort. I'm sure a lot of us were hoping for something like that but expecting much less. Forwards were awesome in D and with ball in hand. I think we dominated the contact. Scrum and line out were alright but need to improve. My...

Forwards have looked fantastic, contact work has been great. Lineout I feel is mostly down the the throws. Overall not a great half for FF (Folau Fainga'a) and Samu was pretty quiet. Ruck turn overs look to be more a result of poor decisions in the backs, white running into Cane while our pack is mauling, going...

I actually think these locks could be much stronger than the two from the world cup given the chance, as much as I wanted to like Rodda I have to admit he never really delivered. Both have a harder edge to me and hopefully they can have a good start on Sunday. Forward pack looks fantastic...

I get where you are coming from but wouldn't Ned tick more boxes for this kind of 6? Slightly bigger, better in the lineout and higher work rate? Also Swinton is listed at 108kg and looking at him, I'd be a little bit surprised if he is that heavy. He goes hard in defense but is not a good...

Agreed, while he might not be the most threatening he is very solid and the other options have been wildly inconsistent.

I’m not sure what’s going on here anymore.

Playing O'Connor at 13 did seem a bit odd considering he had lost most of the pace and explosiveness that made him a threat with the ball. In hindsight he probably would have been our best option at 10 last year.

I won't keep arguing about Simone but I think both he and Stewart (to a lesser extent) are exactly what I'd want from a ball playing 12. Not that I actually like that being the foremost skill in a 12. They both have a longer kicking game, can step in at 10, are happy and often effective at...
