NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

I expect the bull to shine next weekend when he is playing in a stronger team. He will also be with the other players mentioned with the bizarre omission of Max Cook. Having looked at CTPE's list again, its amazing how many talented boys are missing, e.g. Tepai, Brent Whicker, Jake Roberts, the...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Newbie, I think you will find that the games between North, West and Baa baas will be close.... Should be a very interesting weekend. I think North Zone could have the edge due to dilution of the West Zone in MWZ and Baa baas...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Fellow U16 watchers... Work commitments meant I couldn't make any of the games at the weekend at Knox... However a few questions for those of you who were there GPS appeared to totally dominate. Is there a specific reason for this ? CTPE, your team list looks very impressive. This would...

That is correct CC. And yes it is a shame, he is a top quality prop and a nice kid.

If the blinkers are off... they will pick a great team... If the blinkers are on... they will play second fiddle to SJRU...

Just saying, you can't satisfy all people all of the time. The selections are what they are. And that's that...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

I've seen him play a few times before and he is indeed good. However, he is up against some quality in the back row... Another notable player to miss out in the back row is Max Cook, the 8 from Norths. Outstanding runner of the ball and defensively sound. Also NSW last year. Can't believe the...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

You could run all sorts of conspiracy theories if you wanted... How all but 3 of the Barbarians side are from the two coaches' Western and Southern Zones... How there are 14 B grade club players compared to 9 A grade club players in Met South... How Northern Zone has more players from the...

Interesting article here about a lad mentioned occasionally on this forum... http://manly-daily.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/manly-teen-captain-picked-off-by-parramatta-in-massive-deal/

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

My understanding of the process is that North, South and West all get to choose a 1 to 15, then Barbarians get to pick the next 1 to 15 from all 3 zones. After that, North, South and West pick 16 to 23, then Barbarians get what's left. This will explain some of the names you see in that list.

I hear he is not available for the regionals. Something to do with school (non rugby) commitments.

Well done Gordon on a good win... Yes there is a debate about the time added on... However, I would like to know what was wrong with Brent Whicker's try just before the Jamo Clark penalty ??? Anyway, for those of you who want to know sides... all up on the SJRU website... Here are the...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Parra were very very good today. Hats off to them. Will be a massive shock if Gordon can put one over them. In the semi, Norths were competitive, particularly in the first half, however Parra clearly had too much for them in the long run.

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Was Norths watching in between Manly games... They took the wind out of ACTs sails in the first half, going into the break 19 - 0, which ended up the final score. Spent much of the second half defending well. They had lost hooker Donnelly and 8 Cook for the 2nd game due to injury and struggled...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

I would take Hunter and ACT over Eastwood, and would be a pick 'em for both of those vs Uni. Gordon still to be proven. Warringah is basically Newport who are a B grade club side (3rd place) so I would expect will struggle.

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

I wouldn't say that CTPE... the other side has Norths, Warringah, ACT and Hunter. Warringah have been in the semis 3 years in a row although they are weaker this year. Hunter have always been strong and ACT are apparently gun this year, and only lost to Parra last year after leading at H/T. They...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

I agree with you Newbie. Canterbury/Uni should not be discounted at all. Heard about the Pirates result and thought it was just down to them (Pirates) having key players out due to schools commitments however I understand that Uni also had players out for the same reason too. Uni had a poor show...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

RT, by baby blues I meant 2 Blues 'B', not Manly (assuming you are assuming I am referring to Manly). Our guys will struggle to win a game indeed. However, I suspect their best chance is in that game. They will also get up for Norths I would imagine given the large peninsula contingent, and...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Pick of games at 9am are Norths vs ACT and Eastwood vs Gordon. Both should be tight. The other games are Sydney Uni vs Southern Districts and West Harbour vs Central Coast. Uni and Wests should win fairly comfortably. 10 am, Warringah vs Hunter probably the pick, although Warringah appear not...
