Junior rugby based on weight classes

Have you heard the phrase, 'perception is reality'. Again your view and others that have that view, leads to no change because your suggestion is impossible, although I agree that the sydney junior rugby assoc could be doing more. Picture this pitch to kids and parents, 'come play rugby.....we...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

No. I coach junior rugby, soccer and cricket. Rugby administrators are either asleep at the wheel or scared to make changes vs soccer and cricket. Grading by weight is not just about regrading the 10 large boys up and 25 small boys down out of say 200 (which are small changes!) It is the...

Junior rugby based on weight classes

No, there ARE enough kids to grade by weight. But perhaps there are too many disparate small rugby clubs....yes that means someone is going to have to grow some balls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, you have a 2 division joint GPS/CAS comp and bring back Grammar and High. Shore would probably play in division 2 and be close to the top of that division. PS, I don't think there's anything majorly wrong with rugby at Shore. Participation in opens is great, down to 8ths. The 14's age...

I haven't seen a lot of talk about the hooker from Kings, Loh. Reserve forward last year, Australian schoolboys hooker this year. Another player from Kings which has materially improved under these coaches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nobody makes decisions in rugby so nothing happens to improve the game and it's bloody obvious there are problems. Check out the changes to rules, game format and player numbers in junior cricket this year. They are not afraid to make changes and junior cricket is booming after a lull. Check...

Yep, it's time Shore were playing div 2 in a 2 division joint GPS/CAS comp (along with TAS, Grammar and High I think). A couple of those TAS players could play 1/2's in the stronger rugby schools and it's a dis service to see them in 3rd grade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That's ridiculous. I don't understand why Australia doesn't introduce the same weight rules as NZ. Oh that's right, the show is run by the same people who got us into the current Super Rugby mess. Also, anyone in the public who argues against introducing these weight rules should consider...

I'm glad View and New stood up yesterday. There were some on this thread including myself that thought the margins would be large. Kings beat View and New by 40 odd in the trials so they have certainly closed the gap. A 1 round comp now feels very short. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New put up a great fight yesterday but that's a soft try and they would be disappointed with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So far this weekend I have noticed say 7 or 8 league games on tv and a similar number of afl games. I'm currently watching schoolboy! rugby league on fox 502. Shute shield was on abc sat pm but the ARU has nothing to do with that. League is suffering a worse decline in player registration...

Sorry I wasnt baiting anyone. Massive win by scots last week. Will Scots relax this week? Or will Kings underestimate a well beaten View side? I think the answers may reveal the attitude in each side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kings over View by 20-30 Scots over New by 25-50 Joeys over Shore by 35-50 Margins could blow out this weekend. Is Kings or Scots going to put their opposition to the sword??? Whichever team does is the front runner in my view because it shows killer attitude. Maybe they both will which...

Also a prop, Joyner. Both great blokes. I would like to think we beat them in the forwards but we couldn't hold their backs. enough reminiscing......that was the game I remember most and yes it involved Joeys again. Perhaps I envy those of you who have a beating Joeys story. It didn't happen in...

Yep we (Kings) lost 17-6 to the Joeys 91 team. All others lost by ~50. 2 boys from Kings who finished in 90 repeated year 12 at Joeys in 91!!!!! So they could win a premiership. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
