Which clubs are the Class of 2012 going to?

It is my understanding that Alaatoa is the son of either Brian (Wests) or Vili (Manly) the two book-end twin brothers that played for Samoa in the RWC in 1991? Am I correct? The other brother or cousin plays for the Canterbury Bulldogs ('Harlan Alaatoa').! If so he has big (and I mean big)...

    National U/16 Championships 2012

A bold prediction; Jordan Loto'aniu to shine! Selected this week in the Bulldogs SG Ball squad for 2013 (and a year early) but hoping he electes to stay with rugby, as he does have a better future here! Alas he does go the Bass High School (the Doggies Kennel) so it remains to be seen!

Oz Schools v NZ Schools Test & Tour

Hound, Tell that 'Pigeon' of yours to lay of the 'Kava'. The Bula boys have a notorious reputation among the Pacific islanders for mixing it extra strong! :D :D :D

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

I would have to disagree with you here! Firstly, it is my understanding that the schools above did not send all of their best players available. There are also better schools than the ones above that would probably carve up in sevens (i.e. Matraville Sports, Edeavour Sports and Patricians Bros...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2012

Bra, There is a tough tour ahead and I believe the management would be trying to save the top lads for the main games in NZ.

2012 National Schools Rugby Sevens Tournament

St Greg's Westfield's Hills All notable powerhouse league schools! What others and myself have been saying for a long time, "rugby needs to tap into greater western Sydney and the way to do it is through the introduction of sevens"

    National U/16 Championships 2012

Fuck me! (sorry Lee) Surely someone from the SJRU or NSWJRU must see the posts in this site! Take the hint guys! Better still if the associations need help (voluntary help even) I'd put my hand up! It can't continue this way!

    National U/16 Championships 2012

Well stated RM! Nevertheless as many of us already know the ARU has lost sight of the bigger picture (i.e. nurturing the grass roots of the game) so I wouldn't expect them to come riding on in to save the day! Ultimately IMO our national team is now paying this price, and will continue to do...

    G&GR GRASSROOTS RUGBY THINK TANK

The last time Australia won the Hong Kong sevens was when Campo was at the helm. If i recall correctly his Randwick team mate at the time, Athura Niquila, was the Man of the Tournament! I digress! Ultimately I believe you're on the money HJ. For me all the key protagonists are still tuned into...

    G&GR GRASSROOTS RUGBY THINK TANK

An interesting article I found on 'The Roar'. Definitely food for thought. The Roar I’ve tried to help grassroots rugby, to no avail By David Campese 20 September 2012 It’s been interesting reading some of the comments on my columns from the armchair experts asking why I talk so...

    National U/16 Championships 2012

I realise it is a Sunday however it is a sad state of affairs when someone in the SJRU and NSWJRU cannot post today's results! Adding to the dismay are George Smith's remarks that there were no programs or team lists available. As a parent myself such items are a record of a lad's high...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 4 Game 1 New Zealand vs South Africa - 15 Sep

Now I get it! I'm Irish as you can see and your high powered perception is leaps and bounds ahead of me! Nevertheless even though i live in Australia I still support Ireland, but I do love the country in which I live just like the 15% of New Zealanders who choose to support the Australian...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 4 Game 1 New Zealand vs South Africa - 15 Sep

C'mon HJ, No retreat no surrender! The 'ballet dancers' need to go and eat some 'concrete' and 'harden the f@!k up' ... ... ... ;) which reminds me of a poem: McCaw's men came o'er the glen like a pack of ballet dancers; one in four knew the score; the rest were f-ing chancers!

    G&GR GRASSROOTS RUGBY THINK TANK

Tom Ando, From my understanding the tournament you speak of is the only one in existence for junior clubs. From all reports it is a bloody great tournament as its participation rate is very high across all ages. I am also aware that Scots (Bellevue Hill) conduct a school sevens tournament...

    G&GR GRASSROOTS RUGBY THINK TANK

Ultimately i am going to have to disagree with your comments with respect to physical attrition based upon what the ARU deems to be an acceptable level of daily rugby for most junior tournaments like state and regional championships (i.e. 100 minutes per day in addition to the rugby they already...

The Grassroots Rugby Excellence Awards - 2012

Do the Maori lads down at Waverley Rugby still hunt, kill and slab half a cow on there sangers at the BBQ? They were the best once upon time! And the customer service was brilliant with comments like "Cheers for the beers bro!" and "would you like your meat still kicking (i.e raw) or do you...
