Wallabies vs Wales - Docklands Stadium June 16

Nope - just watched the replay. Richard Hibbard (welsh 16) charges in to try to stop the drive and falls straight on his backside. The maul collapses over him and he is clearly visible on the bottom. Fair penalty.

    It's time to sing

Two hours till game time and the welsh have been singing all afternoon in caxton st. Yet to hear an Aussie reply. Its gonna be a long night!! Dont care if we sing wiggly woo as long as we open our bloody mouths! Don't want a repeat of the British Lions tours where our boys thought they were...

    Who's to Blame?

Of course I may be just convincing myself that we are overrated so that my expectations are lowered and my psyche is less battered when we bottle it... and I am more overjoyed when we overcome our inevitable inconsistency and mediocracy to win against the odds... :D

    Who's to Blame?

Fair enough, although I would argue that the All Blacks are still a class above - they have consistency, and still manage to win ugly on an off night playing smart rugby. We on the other hand have been the masters of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I agree we have the potential, and...

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

But they match the sentiment on the silver fern as well. They were a little more magnanimous over there than the kiwis on this site.... "Lawrence a disgrace. The Gill penalty was a joke and one before that for a McCaw steal was ridiculous as well. McCaw was not supporting his...

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

What shit?? Just saying your comments would hold more sway if you'd actually seen the game and had some personal insight into why some of the posters were pissed. For what its worth I actually sympathised with the saders in the final last year and with the Saffers in the RWC QF. It is always...

Reds vs Crusaders Super Rugby Rd11 2012

At least try watching the game before you pass comment. The "suck it up" "sore losers" blah blah blah is equally nauseating and predictable. There have been some valid complaints and some not so valid complaints about the standard of refereeing in this game but at least they came from an...

    Did Joubert feel the pressure?

Interesting article on refereeing written by a couple of sports scientists who happen to be strength and conditioning coaches for the saffer sevens side. http://www.sportsscientists.com/2011/10/rugby-world-cup-ref-debate.html The site is more focussed on running and has great analysis of the...

    Returns from injury

Palu - grade 1 hamstring strain. I guess that means they will likely keep him in NZ? Mccabe - subluxed shoulder. Did the same in a brumbies game and missed no games. I would say that means shoulder reconstruction in the off season but not sure short term. Horne - non displaced facial fracture...

Tournament Rule if Pool Points are Equal

Why? Ireland have no bonus point thus far. Wallabies have 1. If we get a BP against USA and Russia then we will top the pool if ireland loses to Italy (even if they also get a BP against Italy and Russia). If Ireland beats Italy then we cant top the pool regardless. So its unlikely to be an...

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

Except that Ireland vs USA was fairly close and the USA defended very well. I guess we probably have more attacking penetration in the backs than Ireland (when we arent being smashed in the forwards) so we should be able to pile on more points than them. I wouldnt risk a second string side...

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

We need to play our strongest side (whatever this is) vs the Yanks as we need a 4 try bonus point in case we get lucky and ireland lose to italy. As it stands we have one BP and they dont. If they lose to italy by less than 7 points and pick up a bonus point against russia we need a BP against...
