Wallabies no 7 for the world cup

The problem will be if he gets an injury that rules him out for a few games only - eg up to the quarters or semis but will recover in time for the final (should we make it) If we send him home he cant come back. Alternatively if he stays we play the lead up matches without a fetcher. Big risk IMO.

The positives & failings from Bledisloe 1 2011

Agreed cyclo - think I thomond needs to open his other eye..... its a good read, for a work of fiction.

    Kicking Coaches.

Anyone see the Wales v England game. England won 23-19 despite being outscored three tries to two. Perfect kicking (5 from 5) from none other than rubber johnny including two drop goals, gave them the game. Ominous for us if we don't find some kicking form. Have we been ignoring this key skill...

    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

Lots of folding under pressure by the ABs front row. And as for the penalty - who stood up first - have another look. Surprised, but yep - I'd say parity.......

    Tri Nations Game 3 New Zealand v Australia - Saturday 6 August 2011 - 3N2011

Well that didnt go to script. Call me pissed and one eyed (both of which would be accurate) but I actually think there were a number of positives from that game. The biggest being the scrum had parity and the fact we were strong at the breakdown on our own possession. The ABs deserved the win...

    Returns from injury

Nah I think he's just copying what worked so well for link at the reds. Except that moving beale to 10 in defence doesnt work like lucas or lance did. Wasted counter attacking ability and not as strong a defender. So hes trying the same thing with Ioane. Also Ioane cant be targeted for his lack...

    Returns from injury

I'd still rather have that dynamite on the field from the start. Timmy Horan is my gold standard 12 and he is more a JOC (James O'Connor) than a McCabe.

    Returns from injury

This was my main quandary when I started this thread - a fully fit mitchell, ioane and oconnor all command a place in the side. All offer more than AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) or McCabe, albeit in different positions. So given that Mitchell is likely to be fit in time for the RWC surely now (or at least next game v a...

    Pat McCabe

Barnes is pretty bloody physical in defence. As well as McCabe played I would still bring back Barnes if he is fit.(on the assumption that JOC (James O'Connor) is going to be picked on the wing) Equal defence plus better in attack.

    Returns from injury

If he makes it back by the end of the 3N (and I hear he is on track) Deans surely would have to put Ioane, JOC (James O'Connor) and Schmoo all in the run on side. Best players on the park and all that. So one will have to move to the centres. Time to try JOC (James O'Connor) at 12. Put McCabe on the wing - hell they can swap if...

    Returns from injury

"Deans was hopeful that forwards Wycliff Palu, Tatafu Polota-Nau and James Slipper would come under consideration for the final Tri Nations Test against New Zealand in Brisbane on August 27 and that winger Drew Mitchell would also be back running when the Wallabies returned from South Africa...

    Rob Horne

Well the other options are ant or diggers and that would just unleash the usual shitstorm of one eyed reds bias calls. Just cant see what AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) offers this year, although I was a big fan last year. Being picked on past form IMO.

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

I heard complete but that doesn't make sense for him to be back so soon. I can only surmise his ACL injury is old and picked up coincidently on the scans/ scope when he did his meniscus (cartilage) - that would fit with the fairly innocuous injury and shorter recovery time. Would also explain...

    Rob Horne

Horne is playing club game on the w/e according to Deans. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) still doesnt look the goods for run on this year IMO and on the bench he covers a number of positions. Think horne would make for a stronger side and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) would improve the bench which was a bit lacking v SAF..

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

twitter on 22nd "Update on knee!! Was going in for surgery on Tuesday but delayed !! Run next week and hope all is stable !! #fingerscrossed" Guess its too early to say..

Benn Robinson Ruled Out for the 2011 Season with Injury

He was a guest commentator last night and said he was going to "put his hand up" during the trinations. Presume that means things are OK. Deans interview "Deans was hopeful that forwards Wycliff Palu, Tatafu Polota-Nau and James Slipper would come under consideration for the final Tri Nations...

    Pat McCabe

Think I'd rather see diggers at 13 than beale - but would prefer neither. Still hoping AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) will hit his straps. If Deans doesn't use OConnor at 12 (and I agree it doesnt look like he will) then there will be some seriously good firepower wasted on the bench if schmoo comes back and regains his...

    Pat McCabe

Thought McCabe had a good game v saffers, however the return of schmoo - which looks on the cards prior to the RWC is going to cause some issues. Which winger do you leave out - diggers? Oconnor? Both need to be on the field as much as possible. Mitchell was in smoking form in the super 15 so...

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Hard to take too much from that given that the boks b side still did better than the wallabies b side. POSITIVES 1. Scrum was solid and will only get better with the return of slipper +/- robinson 2. Horwill/simmons combo rock solid - sharpie should be worried 3. Moore>>>faingia - no surprises...

    Wallabies V Samoa - Test 2011

Playing a second string side. Forgoing easy penalties.... Could be interpreted as overconfidence or disrespect.
