Yeah, I too was surprised to see McDermott starting on the bench. I do think there isn't too much between Sorovi and McDermott. I'd love to be surprised/proven wrong but I'm yet to see any proof that Lucas is any better than either of them (although he's a good deal older). Mate, I'm...

I do agree from the sounds of it, Ruan might usurp Fa'agase but I really rate him hopefully the Reds will make it clear they do too, he's an outstanding reserve prop -- could start at more than a few sides, he looks like he's committed to Queensland if they'll keep him, I hope we see Queensland...

Yeah, I don't know how good the other Smith is, but I really rate Fa'agase he could start at a number of other Super Clubs -- he plays either side of the scrum, he's definitely a guy you would like to have around even if he's a 5th option. One injury and he's got you covered.

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

You forgot Andrew Ready, not sure if he's in the top or bottom category, but if he can get his training to standard he could make our very good scrum even stronger.

Is there a better scrum in Super Rugby right now!

That's a bit harsh, David played for Souths if I remember correctly asking a friend it was apparently GPS. And actually he's very against the Sydney centric ARU.

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

I don't disagree with this analysis. I think the more 'agricultural' style will work better with Lance at 10, than Paia'aua. But I still think the disconnect in the attack is more on Lance than Paia'aua and swapping Paia'aua out might fix the problem but might not be an ideal solution. But we'll...

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

I disagree if we were to have a playmaking 10 then Kerevi can actually be a really viable 12. Cooper or Barrett are good examples of players who fit this kind of mold, even Beale could be enough. Or you could go with that New Zealand style with SBW at 12 and Crotty at 13, having Kerevi at 12 and...

This article has a good look at some of the reasoning behind DP being benched. Some choice quotes from it: McGahan "We have a young group coming together and we are trying to find the best positions" "He's had a couple of weeks with Duncan and we will see where he fits." "Duncan has been...

Yeah, I agree 100% with this. I don't dislike the Kerevi-CFS centers but Paia'aua has been fucing outstanding since last year. It is possible we see Paia'aua going to 10 if the Kerevi-CFS pairing works out.

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

The Kerevi - CFS centers remind me of the Kerevi - Kuridrani center pairing (that I think is the best option for the Wallabies). I do think Paia'aua being dropped from the side is disappointing. Almost as disappointing as seeing Nabuli still in the side. Also I'm not entirely sure about playing...

Reds vs Brumbies, Lang Park, 2nd March 2018 @ 7:00pm AEST

Honestly, I think this type of argument is too often brought up I've coached other sports at a fairly high level (State Basketball) and it's really very uncommon. I do agree it's more common in Rugby but in the case of a penalty, the penalty goal isn't the only option a team has; they can pack...

    Reds v Bulls: Round 4 - Suncorp

I'd raise my eyebrows if Nabuli was kept in the side, that's two very average games in a row. Last year he was very very good this year he just can't catch the ball. -_- I think, and lot of people think (at least I think they do) Toua should ideally be on the wing. What do people think about...
