I agree with that sentiment. I understand it does affect the running rugby mantra with 2 or 3 big bodies. But they will adapt. Richie Aho had a great year whilst he was in the green - he was a big body. An Ed Gower or Luke Jones build of player/s would add to the dynamic that is in the first...

Kudos must go to Goodbody as well. He handled Lolohea well in the scrum, especially early when the big unit was fresh. The try he scored backing up with the turn of speed was great to watch. Good side and attitude on Saturday. Classy touches by Hoiles and Samu's first 20 were great.

I'm sure the game on Saturday will be put behind everyone tomorrow night at training. If it's a dry track on the weekend I believe the Wicks should prevail. Hopefully Nio, Geoff Ingram and David Horwitz are back as well. Were they bad injuries ruling them out? BTW - I thought Bryce...

    Shute Shield 2013

Succinctly put Coach. In effect, they are a production line of talent that stays stagnant in the one pool

    Shute Shield 2013

I was thinking something along those lines on Saturday when Jeremy Tilse was on the sideline warming up for SUFC. This isn't about the individual but rather the system. Who really gets the best value out of a player like Jeremy Tilse? There is a player who has been in the system for a long...

One thing is certain. With the calibre of LaLa, Connor, Baldwin, Johnson, Bennett, Paila, Taavili and Vizer the backrow depth is great. I'm sure I've missed a few in naming those. Get some big locks and I think things are going to go up another level. Good to hear about Hoiles.

I noticed today Bennett has been named in 4's! Was that a 7 weeks suspension he got?

The side is doing well for the lack of physical size. With Richie Aho now gone the bigger body missing is obvious at scrum time and with the ball carry in first grade. Commendable effort by Goodbody against Lah in the scrum, who's been propping since 2003 in Shute Shield. Second grade are...

Sunny and 18. Perfect day for running rugby

Good to have Samu back at centre this week given the size and speed of the Norths backs this season. He'll be good in defence with the extra body size as well as his usual potent running. Forwards should cancel each other out. Will be close but I think Randwick has been the more consistent team...

Going to be an interesting 4 weeks of footy. Road trip to Penrith and then Norths, Souths and Uni. Big ask to win all four however, they are in with a chance against the last three. Bonus points will be crucial to the outcome of their final position on the ladder? Winning takes that question...

I thought he was lazy at first sight, but gee was I wrong . Against Warringah his speed off the mark to get to the ball then the work on the ball was great. He read the play well. Was he carrying a long term injury?

Agreed. The LaLa's, Toa's and Samu's are doing a tremendous job on the field. An old hand like Nio can be the voice and calming influence over the group. It's great to watch the team play the way they do. Some calming leadership can see them win the close games.
