Looks like both of them are indeed training with the squad.
Seems like there were a number of other 'non-squad' members in the change rooms too. Uelese and McInerney were both in tracksuits in the change rooms after the game singing the anthem.
So a 38 man squad set to be announced on Sunday at the conclusion of TT. Does anyone know the status of Rodda and Phillip given they aren't in the Top 14 finals or relegation playoffs with Lyon and Pau? Assuming their availability, I suspect the squad may look something like the below...
Will be interesting to see who the third halfback selected is given Gordon's injury. Given Powell's inclusion in last year's PONI squad, he seems like the obvious selection. Although they may opt for a left-field selection with an eye on the future - like a Ryan Longeran.
It's not possible for an Aussie and a Kiwi side to both go through undefeated.
EDIT: If an Aussie side loses one game, they'd have to win their rest to make sure they get four wins. That way is (say...) the Brumbies lose to the say Crusaders, they'll have to beat the Blues, Highlanders, Chiefs...
Looks like the kiwis aren't taking this one lightly.
1. Joe Moody (48)
2. Dane Coles (72)
3. Tyrel Lomax (4)
4. Patrick Tuipulotu (33)
5. Samuel Whitelock (120)
6. Shannon Frizell (12)
7. Sam Cane (72) - captain
8. Ardie Savea (47)
9. Aaron Smith (95)
10. Richie Mo’unga (20)
11. Caleb Clarke...
The NSW Waratahs have just announced their schedule for next year. Looks like a Super Au compeition that mirrors the same schedule as Aoteaora.
Kicking off on the 19th Feb (one week earlier than Super Aotearoa) with 8 matches home and away round robin with the last round robin match on the...
You lose you're back-up lineout captain. If Phillip goes down with an injury, you're left with LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and Hosea, neither of whom run lineouts for their province.
For what it is worth - I think the social media content that the Wallabies social accounts has been producing has been excellent. Wonderfully engaging with insight into the camp and more of a personal focus with the players. An example of this was the clip they posted when they announced and...
it was a difficult game for fullbacks. I'm not sure what benchmark you are using for 'international fullback', but Banks was assured under the highball, kicked well and outplayed his opposite number.
Do you know something that we don't? It's on the record that he's recovered from the hip pointer, just didn't get enough reps in with the team to warrant selection for the first bled.
The Wallabies have experienced medical and S&C staff. If selected, he'll be fit.
I would suspect so. Particularly given that we've had a tendency to select at least on bigger centre and some big wingers too.
The Wallabies backling is average 179cm tall and 91kgs vs All Blacks 185cm tall and 93kgs.
The height differential is the most concerning - particularly on the wings.
Apparently Petaia has receovered from the hip pointer injury, but hasn't had enough time training with the team on the paddock.
We're looking down the barrel of 9 games in 10 weeks. He'll get a run. As will McDermott.
