Big losses, I'm happy the upcoming game is at suncorp cause if it was on the road we'd be completely screwed. Blyth or Daly into the second row with the other on the bench, Bryant into 7 with Brial on the bench, Thomas into 9 with Werchon on the bench. If Flook is injured then Annan to come in...
Been thinking about this instead of doing any work today and in terms of debutants this year I'm seeing potentially 8 players who should at least be in the national squad (depending on squad size, I'm basing this off a 38 man squad):
1. Corey Toole
2. Max Jorgensen
3. Josh Flook
4. Josh Canham...
A lot of chat about whether or not Uru could crack into the Wallabies as a lock despite his size, but it's worth recognising that smaller more mobile locks paired with a big bruiser is the current trend with most of the top teams having adopted it. Tadhg Beirne and Maro Itoje are two prime...
I've been thinking long and hard about the 10 position (instead of working) and it's a bit of a dilemma. Gordon is by far the biggest threat with ball in hand at 10 and constantly seems to come up with a magic play but he can't kick for shit. If he's starting at 10 then you need someone like...
I'm assuming Petaia is out for next week, but is there any news so far on Hodgman and Paisami? If they're out then I'd expect Ravai and Henry to start with Blake and probably Annan coming onto the bench. Campbell to 15 with Grealy at 11 with Petaia out.
IMO I think we're looking at something like this for the Reds:
1. Peni Ravai
2. Matt Faessler
3. Zane Nonggorr
4. Ryan Smith
5. Cormac Daly
6. Liam Wright
7. Fraser McReight
8. Harry Wilson
9. Tate McDermott
10. Tom Lynagh (would be my pick but could go to any of the three options)
11. Suliasi...
Looking at the squad the only other player I can see playing on the wings is O'Donnell. Force have a lot of inside backs but barely any outside backs. Pretty odd.
Brial I'd imagine will get some gametime off the bench this year. Goldsborough on the other hand looks like a prospect for the future. Probably won't get any gametime unless we see some serious injuries in the centres. Currently stuck behind Flook, Henry, Paisami, O'Connor, Creighton and Annan.
Makes sense really, the Tahs already have options at 12 (which is the position I'd be playing him at). If this is all true then I'd be moving heaven and earth to get him to the Rebels, they have a glut of 13's but no real stand out at 12.
Assuming everyone is fit this is the team I'd be rolling out for Fiji (replacement in brackets if the player isn't fit):
1. Bell
2. Porecki
3. Tupou
4. Arnold
5. Skelton (c)
6. Hooper
7. McReight
8. Valetini
9. Fines-Leleiwasa
10. Gordon
11. Koroibete
12. Kerevi
13. Petaia
14. Nawaqanitawase
15...
Kerevi not going to play against Georgia apparently.

Wouldn't be surprised if we go with Philip instead of Frost purely for the grunt work against the Georgian pack. Also would have someone like Vunivalu on the bench alongside White and Donaldson to really try and exploit the advantage we will have in the backline.
Not sure backrow is really the position that we need to bolster with Wright, McReight, Wilson, Uru, Anderson and Bryant. I'd much rather we sign another lock.
Hopefully the fact that we have some more ball carriers in our tight 5 will mean that our backrow can play to their strengths again next year (playing a bit looser, targeting the fringes and support play).
So Donaldson is set to start at 15? Interesting....
I wonder what the make up of the bench will be. If Eddie plans to get gametime into the uncapped and low-cap players then we could end up with a seriously undermanned bench. Wouldn't be surprised to see guys like Schoupp, Fines-Leleiwasa and...
