Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

The commentators keep relating the game back to known American sports such as NFL and basketball, and I understand why. but it's painful to listen to.

Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

I really want rugby to grow in North America, but I have to say the NBC commentators are not helping. They've are real bad.

The Impending Beale vs Folau vs Cooper debate

I think Folau in the centres is a bit premature. The thing that makes him such a threat and a brilliant player in the back 3 is that he needs the space to build his attack from. At fullback he can roam and insert himself at any point of the attack. He can be an inside runner, he can push out...

The Impending Beale vs Folau vs Cooper debate

I'm a big AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) fan. He has been the most consistent Wallaby backline player for years. He rarely has a bad game, runs hard, defends hard, attacks the breakdown like a 7. He might not have the pace, the flash or X factor of some other players, but you can expect a strong performance from him...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

A phase based approach would be better than a time based one. Imagine this- Blue team is 5 meters out from the try line when they are awarded a penalty advantage. They play on and gain 3 meters, a couple more rucks form and they suck in more and more defenders. By this time 2 or 3 phases have...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

As a fellow ref, my interpretation of advantage is kind of similar. For scrum advantage I'll call advantage over if they make the gain line in two phases or less. Any loss in ground and I call it back. I figure if a scrum was given and won the team could expect to make the gain line from an 8...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

It's a tough call but I might stick with my current team. I am doing decent in the league (54th I think). If Mogg has a great week I will regret it. I tend to pick players who are consistent over the last 3 games or so.

So you are saying leave Izzy in and take out Foley for Mogg?

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

Here's my team. I am struggling with a few decisions. Do I bring in Jacques Englebrecht into my backrow? And who would I bench? Conrad Smith into the centers for Tapuai? Jesse Mogg - should he stay on the bench?

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

I missed out on 122 points by making bad selections Took out George Smith for Sam Cane and left Liam Gill, Ascombe and Piutau on the bench!

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

I have Moore as my captain almost every week, and have Robinson on the bench too. I'm doing alright. Sitting at 38 after 1 game this round. However I am pissed that I HAD George Smith in my team but dropped him for Sam Cane! I would have cracked the top 20 in the GAGR league if I kept him!

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

I almost always choose Stephen Moore as my captain. He is pretty consistent with 30 or so points each week.

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

This is the second week he has been out and Foxsports hasn't listed him as injured! There really should be a way to compensate for team lists that come out after the transfer deadline each week. Or in my case players who are injured but are not listed as so. Perhaps average the points the...

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

This is the team I am going with. Not too worried about the byes next week as I have strong replacements on the bench, plus the four transfers. Was trying to get Ben Smith in the outside backs, and maybe George Smith in the backrow but the $ didn't add up. Maybe next week Should I go with...

I traded away conrad smith because he was underperforming and BAM! 51 points this round.

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

Here's my team for round 5. I used my wildcard. It may bite me in the ass, but I had to use it because i had 6 players ether not starting or who's teams were in a bye. And if you fall behind one week you are basically out of the comp.

    Fantasy Super rugby 2013

Here's my team. I had a tough time deciding on Moore vs Robinson at hooker and Jones vs Pyle at Lock. Also I wanted to ditch Quirk to the bench and get Gill in there. I have the money but not enough transfers. Conrad Smith I wouldn't mind losing as well.
