Carter, Rokocoko , Inhoff - Corticosteroid Use (Allegedly)

If you don't want teams knowing your line-out moves you *definitely* don't want other teams knowing who has a dicky ankle this week if you can help it.

Carter, Rokocoko , Inhoff - Corticosteroid Use (Allegedly)

Although Cortisone might technically be a steroid it really annoys me when the media conflate performance enhancing drugs, banned substances and steroids. Compare this story to weightlifting where you have whole teams of people getting caught taking what the layman thinks of as *actual*...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

I think it makes sense to share the home games between the grounds of the different clubs. A 7-9 round season means 4-5 home games, so that's one each for Gordon, Manly, Norths and Warringah.

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Also, doing some quick maths on the player numbers we get: 35*5=175 Contracted+EPS super rugby players minus 30 Wallabies + 10-20 Team rehab equals ~130 available super rugby players 25-30 players in each NRC squad * 8-10 teams = 200-300 players total So this would involve 70-170 players...

3rd tier is back in 2014 [Discontinued]

Looks like they've left lots of wriggle room on who will actually make up the teams. Any predictions? Personally I can see: 1. Sydney University 2. Eastwood / Macquarie Uni 3. Randwick / UNSW 4. Balmain? (Funded by Warren Livingstone) 5. Melbourne (associated with Rebels and one or more...

Ben Mowen survives alleged mutiny plot.........

That leaves a pretty narrow group that he's criticising. Moore and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) I don't think anybody else has played close to 90 tests, only one of those two was in the 'Dublin 6'.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Point taken on that one. The key word being "IF" and even then you hedge your bets by saying "very strong chance". If we assume that there's a 50% chance of him being healthy and a 50% chance of somebody becoming better than him in the meantime then that means he's a 0.5x0.5=25% chance of...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think a good approach is to attempt to predict the 'best three players in each position'. Then whittle down the squad with a slight preference for players who can play multiple positions. The players in each position are in descending order. I have put ages in braces where I think that is an...

    Highlanders high profile signing

http://www.odt.co.nz/sport/rugby/highlanders/278353/rugby-brown-coach-highlanders And the winner is... nobody. The announcement was for their new attack coach.... who already coaches Otago, so not exactly left-field. They LIED TO ME!

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

What evidence do you have for that? The previous post just said that Mogg is as fast as the guy who was considered to be the fastest player in rugby (for a time). Additionally, from memory JOC (James O'Connor) seems to be consistently as fast or faster than just about anybody going around. Where are these...

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

I was sitting behind the goal line and all I saw was sideways running and shoveling. That was also what lead to the last AB try... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Taking a punt on a possible team.. bold are positions that I see as set in stone, debutaunts are in italics. 1 Robbo 2 Moore 3 Alexander 4 Douglas 5 Horwill 6 Mowen 7 Smith 8 Palu 9 Genia 10 Cooper 11 Ioane 12 Taps 13 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 14 Mogg 15 JOC (James O'Connor) 16 TPN 17 Slipper 18 MMM 19 Higgers...

    Wallabies Watch

TPN has the runs on the board at international level. I've seen lots of people on this board calling for Hanson to start ahead of Fainga'a, I haven't watched all the games myself but that doesn't excactly say he's in scintillating form. I could handle Douglas instead of Pyle, in fact I should...

    Wallabies Watch

I think this is what the team will roughly look like, barring injuries. Pyle is a bit of a bolter but I have a soft spot for him because he went to my school. Also we need somebody to run the lineouts and I don't think Simmons has ever looked the goods as a Wallaby. Robinson Moore Palmer Pyle...

    Drugs in sport

That's even more of a problem, nobody has the resources or the money to test the thousands of players in club rugby, many "supplements" are relatively cheap. As long as you're not dumb enough to post it to your own address and pay by credit card then it seems like it would be fairly easy to...

ARU contracting process - how could it be improved?

Regarding the '100 test bonus' that people were talking about earlier and the problem of the sick incentive for the ARU to then bench players on their 99th test: One option would be to have a 'match payment scale' i.e. you get 1k for your first wallaby match, 2k for your second etc. You would...

    Gay Rugby World Cup

The thing about this instance is that the concerned group of individuals put in their own time and effort to organise this thing. There is no 'gay quota' for the wallabies or any other "special treatment" for gay players. Except for the negative kind which as you point out still happens from...
