The England vs Samoa league test apparently had 3x the Foxtel viewers as the Tahs V Blues.

Yeah but the unavailable data is the kicker.

3 crowd figures so poor in Melbourne that they haven't even been announced.

That's not the sign of a city of devoted fans turning up in their droves to back their team ala the Rabbitohs fans when the NRL punted them.

Rebels fans have seemingly just walked back down the road to the MCG.

They're totally invisible down here too........ absolutely no media exposure.

My workplace stopped recording their matches last year and very scarcely (if it's a slow news day) report on them.

They're dead to the casual supporter.

I was in Melbourne this weekend and had the option to attend the Rebels vs Reds game or the Geelong vs Essendon AFL at the MCG on at the same time, i went with the later, the Oz Super Rugby games this year have been far too ordinary so i decided to tick off a bucket list item(AFL at the G). I did have friends who attended the Rebels game, and, i asked them how the game was today, and there simple answer was that "the last 15mins was the only time it got interesting and that Australian Rugby is in the shit". Their words, not mine.

Reds V Rebels was 6, 931 at the end of the article. Also the previous week I think the Tahs reported over 18K at their match against the Blues, cough cough cough looked like 5 to 6 k max so maybe even these figures are inflated. My reasoning on the Tahs figure is because they would not move for the A-League grand final to North Sydney Oval.

brings the season crowd average down 28%
Fox ratings down 10%
