Seems like a hot team for this weekend, however haven't had a tough game yet, will be interesting to see how they stand up to a large Padua side, either way will be a great game

Fabris is 100% from what i've heard. Fairly sure Jenkins is out with a hamstring injury.. Haven't heard of who they're bringing in.

Good to hear Fabris is back, runs exceptional lines for a hooker and has quality work rate. From what I've seen the Ashgrove 2nds and 16A's have a number of talented back rowers and although the Jenkins absence is a devastating one, I'm confident these boys can fill this hole

ATC under 14s (and a team in u13) will play there for the season. They played Villa a couple of weeks ago and St Eds last week.

Would appear no SPLC U'14 teams? SLC U14 teams playing ATC instead? Anyone know more about this??
Something to do with changing the start of senior school to Grade 7 led to the grade 8's last year (this year's grade 9's) only having a half year intake. SPLC also do their 5 week Ironbark camp in Grade 9 so the usual struggling U14 yr at SPLC has a double-whammy and just doesn't have the student numbers. The year change should be a common issue for AIC schools but will show up most in the smaller/co-ed schools. On top of that soccer appears to be winning the popularity contest at some schools which was apparently a key factor in the Villa U15 squad being reduced heavily despite a big year for student numbers.

Id estimate that 3 times as many kids are playing soccer over rugby at Villa

Fabris back in the run on team for Ashgrove. Jenkins also.
Rafter injured in Seconds warmup.
Pringle also played Seconds coming back from injury.

Left at half time of the Marist game. Couldn't watch the referee embarrass herself any longer and Linesmen not much better. Does anyone know why the try by Padua was disallowed following the linesman's report. Why didn't linesman have flag up when incident occurred? Scoreboard person equally mystified. How did both linesman miss the Marist number 10 speared into ground without the ball? Have been watching that referee for 3 years now, when is she going to improve? Marist don't have a plan B. Padua should run over the top of them in second half IMO.

Padua were definitely dominant in every facet but a little unfair to suggest the Ashgrove boys disgraced themselves - they were very upset and the tears were flowing - re the stripped 5 points - Padua executed a fantastic try down the short side but then the linesman reared his head and informed the ref that Padua had made a sub without going "through him" - a very technical breach and did not have any bearing on the try (ie Padua didn't have 16 on or anything) - an embarrassing display of pedantry by the linesman and lack of common sense by the ref by imposing the penalty she did - otherwise ref was very good.
I can't think of a single ashgrove player who outplayed his opposite so all in all a fair result.

Will anyone beat PC now?

Tears may have been flowing but not enough heart shown on the field when it mattered.

Ashgrove forward pack simply dominated in almost al aspects - maybe all except line out. Their aggression wasn't matched and ultimately what won them the game in my opinion.

I agree - they didn't match I and the deserving side got the chocolates.
