Correct!

There was word around that he was also considering the rugby pathway as the Roosters had not been overly good to him in recent years, however his status was greatly elevated when he was included in their U/20's team early this year where he performed exceptionally well!

When GPS rugby started he obviously had to stop playing for the Roosters, and much to their dismay, so they were keen to make the offer of a return very attractive! For mine he would have made the U/20's Junior Kangaroos this week had he continued in the Holden Cup! His centre partner made it, and so did an NRL/Holden Cup player from called Charly Runciman from the Dragons. In their last encounter Milne made Runciman look like a schoolboy!

He'll go far!
Milne is only 1 0f 5 boys doing well, the other boys are all under contracts with NRL Clubs, played 1st XV for their School Rugby this season and all best buddies and socialise together, makes me sad to think these boys union will miss out on.

I have been lamenting such outcomes since Ben Kennedy (ex-Australian Schools) signed for Canberra Raiders in 1996!

PS: and ex-Joey's lad too (winks@LG), even if it was only for a year or two!

And It will keep happening, I love both codes but the Union need a Kick up the Arse and I have a size 15 Boot and quite happy to do it !

Noticed there are changes in the Aus A Team and what's the story with Jones, have there been any quick changes for NZ or Fiji ??

I am a little bemused to see Jones benched for Hutchison.

Hutchison is a good player, there is no doubt, but is he a winger?

I can not recall him playing there before. Seems very Deansesque to play a good player out of position.

Jones is a pretty classy player who will go far in rugby regardless of whether he runs off the bench tomorrow or not.

Look at Horwitz who was unwanted by Schools last year and is now in the Tahs EPS having just played most of the year in 1st Grade with the Wicks.

As Brainstrust said on another thread:
If you have heard Eric Rush the former All Black speak he tells a great story about when he was growing up. He always trialled but never got picked. His father would always say "Don't worry because its just one blokes opinion, maybe the next guy will think differently". When he excitedly phoned his father to tell him he had been selected for the All Blacks, his father congratulated him, but reminded him "it's just one blokes opinion. Don't get a big head, because the next bloke may not like you."

Wise fellow Eric Rush's Dad.

How Jones takes being dropped will define him as a player.
Let's hope he brushes it off and trains and plays his guts out. Alternately he could go to Maccas at 4am, have a blue with Flight Attendants, start his own brand, and ... and ... and...

Is Jones Injured ?
Jones is fit and healthy.

I didn't see the NZ v Aust A game, but can only think that the coaches think that they need both M&M in the centres, but were impressed with Hutchison vs Fiji, and Jones has become colateral damage in their desire to keep Hutch in the run on.

Perhaps @Newbie can give some advice as to whether we need M&M and Hutch to counter the NZ midfield.

You mentioned that there was a need to focus on defence, @The Rock. Perhaps the Coaches/Selectors view that Hutch is better on defence than Jones. Are you one of the selectors, @The Rock?

You seemed a little coy when others pressed you on more information about your concerns.;)

I hope I am wrong tomorrow.

Prefer Jones to be honest! Has speed and size, which will be needed IMHO.

In saying that I hope the kid proves me wrong and has a blinder!

I'm just hope I am wrong tomorrow, of Course I want these Aussies Boys to Win and win well, but the Wingers the Selectors have picked are a worry with the Defence Side of Things. That is where I feel the weakness will be.

@Newbie, I will defer to your knowledge of the little Darkness as you have seen them play. I have not.

Hutch is comparatively little in size but has a huge ticker and a great nack of being in the right place at the right time to make a difference.

Do you think that the selectors have chosen Hutch on the wing to cover some perceived weakness in Jones's defence, yet you assess that the selected wingers worry you with their defence.

Do you think that lad on the other wing, Henly from Cairns, has some defensive weaknesses? He is a dual code player isn't he?

NZ have been using Nathaniel Apa on the wing in his two outings (one being off the bench) and he has done well. He will be hard to contain.

Yes I think that's why Hutch is there and yes I worry about Henly, he is quick but you need some Big Boys out there, who can tackle and have pace as those Big Kiwi Boys will be running down those edges fast, if they get away from you and then you have to stop them.

I guess all will be revealed at about 6:30 pm tomorrow night.

The Coaches will be derided if we lose, and the players will have done well if we win.

Both games tomorrow should be bloody rippers.

Anyone know if the TV will be there to record the game and play it at a later date?

Mate, you have said all this before without really saying anything,
Tell us who you think should be there!!
According to the programme Henley is just over 70kg, the one Kiwi winger I remember seeing would be 25+kg's more!!
