Probably need to stop relying on my memory!
Breaks away: there are at least 2 sets of rules in all selections. Some animals are more equal.

Yep,

Either:
Selected and thrown into the lions den - May the strongest win
Or
selected and groomed by the Ringmasters,

Darn disappointing is all I can say!

So whats the go with these injured players?

I mean, if one of these players under an injury cloud cant complete a game tomorrow, does a shadow player come into the team?
Do the shadow players come into a squad if there is a more serious injury preventing a player from playing for the entire week?

Anyone know the rules?

Last year player dislocated shouldet in his first game,
Shadow brought into camp after advice that player would not be able to compete further
Injured player had to leave camp
To make way for new player

Hi all

So the nationals kick off tomorrow and I am looking for writers and photographers to contribute to the GAGR match reports.

We are all good for tomorrow for writers, but there are quite a few gaps in my schedule for Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

What I am asking for is 200 words on each match. That's stuff all.

The idea is that we cover the general 'vibe' of the game, key highlights, who played well and the final score.

If you would like to write (or have some photos you'd like included in the blog) please send me a private convo.

Edit: CnP has kindly included the full schedule of matches in post #207 below.

Regards

Rich

No one from Joeys in either NSW 1 or NSW 2. One player in Combined States.

Good to see the Waverley boys rewarded with selections in rep teams.

Hi Rich,

I had intended to go to some of these matches with my 2 boys, so I would gladly have done a few games for you,but I just put my back out chasing the bloody dog, so walking (forget running) is a luxury at the moment.

Sorry mate but go the Blues!

I will watch the results an reviews with baited breadth.

No worries WLF.

Hope your back gets better quick.

Should be some great rugby over next 6 days. Can't wait.

What type of dog is it and why was it off the leash?

NSW1 looked very strong def Vic 39-8. Vic looked likely to threaten early, but couldn't stay with NSW as the forwards rumbled over the advantage line and the backline fired. I thought Donaldson, Woodcock, Frost and Rorke in particular looked good, but they all stood up and, once settled, produced a polished performance.

Brumbies' were excellent on defence, really accurate and impactful at contact. Amazing to see them overcome a clear talent and size divide off the back of it.

I personally thought their hooker was particularly good, but rugby.com.au's match report disagrees. (http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2017/07/02/23/10/australian-schoolboys-champs-day-one-live)

Good game.
Lonergan? Should be ACT hooker. Is incumbent Australian Schools hooker.

Very good player
