Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Even a prerecorded 10 min of gumf from the season would be better than soccer. Commentary doesn't seem like a high expectation.

The Super Pacific rugby broadcast doesn't have rights to broadcast Super Pacific content into Australia? NZR have the right to produce stuff that only can be used in NZ? Can our Kiwi based fans confirm whether or not they get coverage on Stan during the 10 min HT break?

Stan Australia can't step in for 10 mins?

Finally, reverting to clips of Soccer is just plan disrespectful.
I don't know to be honest... I was just guess as it only happens with games in NZ.. pretty crap to be honest..

Yeah get dismal on the screen creating memes

I am warming to DP and Zero as the specialist rugby review talent. For balance against all that NZ-centric thinking it needs Shiggins. Cyclo as compere to keep the show on the road. Umm, or close to it.

Come on team, it's only 10 mins.

This is NZ broadcasting and theyre in charge of producing the content when played in NZ, Sky TV just broadcast random Sky TV content, it’s not relevant to the game and why Stan don’t pick it up.

Sky TV need to pick up their game and produce better content and halftime commentary analysis.

Well, no... I wouldn't expect Stan to be broadcasting Sky Sport NZ content, much like you wouldn't see Channel 7's AFL half time show on Fox Footy.

Stan would need to have their own pre-game and half-time studio show to cut back to.

I assume they didn't want to spend the money for the afternoon live streams, and put all their effort into being in Canberra for the Brumbies QF that was being broadcast on FTA.

Why not?
The example of 7 and Fox Footy is different as they’re competing in the same market, for that reason they also use different commentators.

Stan and Sky already share production costs by using the others commentators, the reason Stan doesn’t broadcast Sky’s halftime content is because it doesn’t exist.

Actually, Fox take Seven's commentary and vice versa with the Fox matches Seven broadcasts outside of Victoria (with the exception of the occasional Adelaide and Perth turnarounds)...

But obviously if Sky is not broadcasting any half time content then that's just another reason for Stan not showing anything.

So you’re saying inside their primary markets Fox Footy and 7 they use different commentators

‘Actually’ I’d say its one of the single biggest reasons Stan dont show anything, the reason you listed isn’t.

No, I said they use each others commentators:

**Those exceptions being much rarer these days.

No, you said outside of Victoria, Perth, Adelaide (AFL‘s primary markets) they take each other’s commentators.

I referenced inside those primary markets, and asked they use the same or different commentators.

Which means inside those markets they use the same, or different commentators?

As part of the AFL broadcast agreement, Channel 7 must broadcast all matches with non-Victorian teams into their respective markets...

If these are matches produced by Fox Sports, they have Fox Sports commentary.

Fox Sports broadcasts every game live, but if it's a Channel 7 game they take the Channel 7 commentary.

this suggests that every single game they use the exact same commentators? Which makes it odd given how you first described it.

In either case its not relevant, it isn‘t the reason that there’s no halftime content for kiwi games.

I'm not sure where the confusion lies?

But if the Kiwis aren't providing any halftime content, then yes, obviously Stan is not going to be showing it... but even if there was a Sky Sport studio halftime show on the feed it would be likely that Stan would not show that either, just being common practice.

In your confused explanations; “ Fox take Seven's commentary and vice versa with the Fox matches Seven broadcasts outside of Victoria (with the exception of the occasional Adelaide and Perth turnarounds)”….

when you simply could have said all matches use the same commentators?.

if there was a Sky Sport studio halftime show on the feed it would be likely that Stan would not show that either, just being common practice.
Lol this is a baseless claim, SANZAAR broadcasters have always provided halftime and pre-match content for one another when it exists, even still under Stan. :D

Currie Cup does it still, inbound All Black test matches did It last year. Springboks v B&I Lions had it. Only breaks are when commercials are shown by domestic broadcasters.

Yep well we rarely see any Stan studio stuff here in NZ, have on odd occasion, but generally not. Though we get ads then too so maybe too hard to tie them in?

Sounds like Sky just use halftime for as many commercials as possible. Stan thankfully hasn’t gone that path yet.

Actually doesn't worry me mate, they go to panel etc when at NZ games, and just games from Aus they have an ad or 2 and then play highlights of past games, don't have a lot of ads. I don't find the panel thing all that interesting really anyway, basically talking about exactly what I have just seen, and usually got my own opinions, and don't really need Justin H, Merhts, or Goldie etc telling me how the game is going, I got eyes and a brain. I think the same with aftermatch ones, enjoy the interviews etc, but don't need a lot else as I have seen the game myself.
But I take it neither channel normally takes other's halftime panel, and wasn't something I ever really thought about before. Wonder if it money thing?
We generally don't get a lot of Stan build up to games unless it a late game from Perth etc and no game on in NZ beforehand. Same as I guess you don't get a lot of Sky's aftermatch as Stan will be having own buid up? ie; We got very little build up to Brumbies/Canes game on Saturday as were doing interviews/wrap up of Blues/Clan game
But in answer to earlier post, yes Sky does have a panel at halftime etc, so it does exist, they do it from sideline at game usually same as prematch and aftermatch, don't do a studio thing though.
