He wasn't in the Wallabies squad. He was added to camp as one of a number of training squad players for opposed sessions. They were all from the Tahs and Brumbies.

Definitely no Charlie Cale for the Lions...

He's done for the year:

The 24-year-old, who is on the verge of signing a new Brumbies deal, hasn't played a game since March after having his season derailed by stress fractures.

There was hope he would be fit for the Super Rugby finals. When that deadline passed, the Lions became the new target.

But with Cale still struggling to get back to full-contact training, the Brumbies have opted for a cautious approach with his rehabilitation.

That means he will skip the Super Rugby AU competition later in the coming months with the view to having him fully fit for the start of pre-season training in November.
