CAS 2019

A dominant Aloys win.

Angus Partington and Angus Allen leading the way in the forwards- belting the Waverley forwards, in particular, the Waverleys highly overrated second row. Spencer, Weber and Loughnan dominating in the backs. It will go down in Aloys folklore as one for the good guys and used as a chance to take this CAS season by the horns in term 3.

Waverley were outplayed, out coached, out enthused all on their beloved home ground. No doubt, a humiliating loss.

Good luck to all the Aloys boys playing today- there have been a few extra boys called up, rightfully so, into the CAS teams for today’s games as well.

Thanks for the footage.

That Aloys v Waves video is great. Fantastic game and the Aolys lads looked very sharp. Big improvement on their preseason. It is brilliant for CAS rugby that they are so competitive. Barker has always had the utmost respect for Aloys. Aloys is Barkers bogey team and after the Aloys performance against Waves, the school and especially the 1st XV would have no reason not to treat Aloys with the respect they deserve. The game at Tynside will be a cracker.

Waverley 3 needs a swift kick up the behind for the late shoulder shove on the first Aloys try-scorer. Harmless, but dumb and childish.

Bogey team is a good word for it Rod. It should be a great match.

Great for Aloys rugby ... so hopefully this gives younger kids some inspiration.

You never want to read too much into highlights ... however it strikes me that it is on the edges where Waverley leaked the points. [Didn't help that Waverley played with 14 men for last 20 minutes, when they might of been playing catch-up.]

and ironically that is where Waverley should beat Cranbrook... on the edges.

pretty much most 1st XV teams have wingers that are good in attack, but are dubious in defence

Knox against Cranbrook, looked so dangerous (with the likes of Ollie Evans) on the edges ... however they kept trying to punch it up close to the ruck ... where Cranbrook is strong.

anyways Waverley surely will bounce back ... in the match at QP ... versus Cranbrook!

PS Re the red card ... did Moretti really do anything that bad .. he strikes me as a good kid. Never seen any niggle .. from him.

and question ... say you get a red card for a lifting tackle ... does that put you out for 1 game ... same as if say you ... went "once were warriors", and struck a player?

Looks like Wilson 3 did not recover from calf injury in CAS 2nds. See Vasse taken ZGallowsys spot. Was he injured on Tuesday??

Did Galloway get a head knock on Tuesday - not sure but heard a rumour. Must be injured in some way to have missed out completely, as he played well on Tuesday.

The precedent is set. More is expected!!

I know I have slipped Hasbeen, but with EOFY upon us, the job that pays the bills has required attention today.

Alas, I have been relying on the word of others, which has been noticeable for its shortness of detail...
