Knox boy and hero to all those with Cystic Fibrosis Nathan Charles selected in the Wallabies team to face France. This pic by Paul Seiser in 2005 (or was it 2006) has been sitting in my files just waiting for this day. "Cheesey" was always going to stand out from the crowd, as he did on this day against Trinity Grammar at Summer Hill!

Haven't seen any games other then Wav v cranbrook but the 8 , 6 and 12 from cranbrook were impressive.
Aswell as the 10 ( believe that's Renton) and 14,15 are any of these players a look in ?

I've spoken very positively about Cranbrook's 14 and 15 who both oozed confidence against Waverley as did their other 11 (injured?) in the Barker game. And then you have Renton, the only other try scorer in that Barker game who I thought was better in that tougher contest (as opposed to Waverley) where his individual try was a highlight. A Smerdon / Renton match-up should be a high class contest.

The Cranbrook scrum with Makas and Summerhayes have to get a mention. And captain Mahoney who I suspect is one of the hardest working forwards in that team.

Good photos from the Cranbrook games and a classy video featuring their match against Barker on this site. https://www.facebook.com/cranbrookministryofpropaganda666?ref=stream

Antony published this Cranbrook link a few weeks back... thank you.
Do any of the other schools do anything similar? Good memory joggers and they are a good complement to the match reports.

Breaking News: Nick Carroll (outside centre for Cranbrook) has dislocated his shoulder at training yesterday and is out for at least 6 weeks

I think this is a very close guess at the team!

As you have indicated with field and price I think they both deserve a look at the team both having played quite well thus far in the season.

Also If he doesn't get back to peak form Renton could be challenging Smerdon for the #10 Jersey.

Widders-Leece could possibly get the nod as captain come rep season, but we will see, reminds me quite a bit of Tom Wilson (B 2011?)

Perhaps Fernandez (B) at Prop and Patterson (W) at 12 could figure in considerations.
Although there are 5 players selected in different positions than their school teams, most have past experience in these positions above. The tight 5 may be a weakness against GPS but this pack would be incredibly mobile, dangerous in open play and very strong defensively.
Renton played on the wing a couple of year's back in the CAS U16 I think. He is quick and adds value to the team with his goalkicking skills.

from the looks of it - you wouldn't want to be a specialist winger this year!!

to not Put H.Patterson (W) would be a absolute joke. Just because the Waverley team is out of form this year, does not mean you can overlook the players who are performing well.

Well, it wouldn't be "an absolute joke" because there are six other players in the 12 jersey doing a decent job for their schools. As it happens, if I were picking the team, I'd have him in at 12, and I think that he's actually better suited to 12 than 10, where he plays for Waverley - but reasonable opinions on the subject may differ.

Even then I'd suggest that 10 and 12 are more than well covered by teams that are yet to lose a game this year let alone not winning one yet. There will undoubtedly be standouts in all teams but after three games, Waverley's performance has to indicate that they will struggle with selections.

By the way, I'm assuming from last week's report that Corias (T) is out - is there any update on that?

Just went past the team list. Trinity have a number of players out this week. Corias- concussion, McClennan out suspended, Fly half Sitiene out- wrist, Barkeley-Brown - virus, Fish- shoulder. I think there are a few others out as well. Looks like it will be a tough one at Cranbrook.

I was at last weeks game and I can confirm that Corias sustained a mild concussion.
The attention that was given to him every time he carried the ball is evidence of the respect that Coach Williams had for him.
Knox in many cases had 3-4 players on him every time he carried.

Let's face it any lad that can score a hat trick at Death Valley is going to attract that sort of attention and additionally should not be discounted from a CAS 1st's perspective.

With 9 tries in total in CAS 2013, I'd have him as my starting 6, and his maturity as Captain is an attribute that you would want in a CAS captain as well, so I would have him filling those shoes as well.
