Waverley 16As def. Knox either 14-12 or 19-12, Waverley scored on the bell and not sure if they added to the total on the board. Great win

^^^^yep, good win to Waves 19-12. Knox w/o Cameron (playing 1sts), Curtis and Trobec (injured). Not sure who of the better players missing from Waves.

Yes good win by Waverley but as said before Knox with 3 of there best out. Will make for a great round 2 clash.

Aaah, the old damning with faint praise. Not full-strength Waverley 16As either so I'd say it was an even contest. Or you could have lost by more if Waves were at full strength. Remember this 16As also beat Riverview 16As. Anyway, always good to beat the silvertails at their palatial ground. Hope you guys don't mind slumming it at QP in Round 2 - hopefully Waves will be at full-strength by then so it should be an even better indication of relative strengths.

17-5 to Waverley over Knox maybe 5-10mins until halftime. 3 tries to 1, Knox scored from driving maul and Waves just hitting holes all within the first 4 phases. Shit house d for Knox standard

Knox rattled - scrum being dominated - Waverley winning the contests for the ball - half time can't come quick enough 20-5 W

19-12 to Cranbrook in Seconds.

In Firsts Barker allowed a long kick from 10 Searl to bounce around. 11 Gibson gathered and a few phases later 14 Stewart was over in the opposite corner. 5-0. Barker enjoyed some good possession but couldn't penetrate Cranbrook's swarming defence. Cranbrook 12 Lamens was strong in attack and defence early on. 10 Searl made a clean break from a simple run-around and fed 15 Stenmark who ran 30 metres untouched to score under the posts. Searl converted 12-0. Barker's problems were compounded by its inability to win its own line out. Cranbrook 14 Stewart off injured. Some heroic Barker defence especially from 15 Lloyd held out sustained Cranbrook attack. 12 Nevison looked dangerous when Barker regained the ball, but overdid the chip ahead. 7 Kemeney dummied past two backs and sprinted 45m to score untouched. 17-0. Barker 10 Kitchener made a good break which came to nothing as he could only find his hooker in support. Half time - steak sandwiches put on by the Old Boys are recommended.
