CAS Rugby 2023

The point you miss is quite simple.
Barker can’t put up competitive teams for games at any time slot apart from 3.15pm …. You advocate for a tiered system but don’t seem to understand that you wouldn’t fit into the tiers where you expect. The GPS schools are interested in aggregate results over the day. Of course the 1st XV is the pinnacle but it is not the only thing. It probably comes
From the bigger boarding populations and the larger number of country kids but you will never jam the social traditions of the rugby season into a tiered system in order to satisfy the ego of some team put together for the final 2 years of school.

I quite clearly said Barker would be tier 2. Multiple times.

I think a tier system should consider consider each team within a program on its own merits and not the entire program. For example a school might have a strong 1st XV and 2nd XV could place teams in tier 1 and 2, giving there 2nds the chance to play against 1st XV side which are at a far more similar level then other 2nds teams. Why should the tier system stop at 1st xv and not be multi layered to give every student more opportunities? Yes it’s difficult but is it worth it for a more competitive and enjoyable experience which is the point of school sports

Barker and Knox both by plenty. No contest.

Waverley vs Cranbrook...
Death Vallley
Sunny day predicted
Rock hard cricket pitch

Lots of passionate Waverly old boys

Good luck Cranbrook.... if you can get within 12, you've done well....

Updated barker teamlist Quon Gibb in and Tj talaileva out presumably injury related (still has north ridge as location).

A shame he is injured. Remembering he is only u16’s.

He was great to watch when he played for Hunter Sports High School last year.
Barker's team this year is very young. Only 6 players in this weeks team are in year 12. Lots of 16s boys have played 1s this year as well. Exciting stuff moving forward for CAS, with the young talent amongst the whole competition

Can't wait to see the Cranbrook and Waverley local derby. I know a few players are returning this week that is, Sam Fingleton (3), and James Nestor (2,6) which will add a sense of dominance and speed around the pitch into Waverley 1,2 XV

would like to know who everyone is keen to see play in this match-up? both from 1st and 2nds

would be surprised to see police there with the large crowd anticipated

What a Match for the ages!

The (8) Jackson from Cranbrook will be returning for this game.

Should be interesting to see how the team will shape up and what changes will be made.
