CAS Rugby 2025

Just to repeat Snort's First Law of Rugby: if you are down 0-26, you are "dominating" nothing, except the number zero. You may, however, have lots of territory that you have failed to convert into points.

I suspect Cranbrook are paying the penalty for scheduling some pretty soft trial games.
Agree with your English lesson but wouldn't call Shore, SIC & NC weak trials.

Yes, it’s deeply unclear to me what St Aloysius thinks it gains from this.
That score probably (for now) spells the end of Aloys' involvement in the 1st XV comp.
Almost 100yrs of history.

CAS comp first played 1930.
Aloys has always struggled (albeit maybe not this bad) - one sole rugby premiership 1978, and two joint in that period.
Never won CAS Athletics, last won swimming in 1935

Any other 2nds or As results, or do we wait for the results summary from Waverley.
Think all that's been posted is a narrow Know win in the 2nds.

Aloys old boy here, very sad to see whats happened to the schools rugby performances in recent years. Can mainly be brought down to the introduction of a 3rd winter sport (AFL) roughly 10 years ago at the hand of the current principal at the time (who was new). as a result the number of students playing rugby dropped rapidly. Seems the school has taken a similar path as schools such as Sydney High and Sydney Grammar becoming almost solely focused on academic performance rather than being more balanced. Will be interesting to see what happens to them & the CAS competition over the next few years, but very sad to see especially as an Old boy to the school

This is very sad. Unfortunately Aloys are just not competitive at all and I can't see them coming back. Perhaps a relegation system will work with an ISA merge but I don't think it's fair if 2 of the other CAS teams play in a 2nd tier comp. Perhaps it's a part merge with Oakhill, Augustines and Pius joining to be replaced by Aloys, Grammar and High?
