The 14A Stannies Pius Fixture was a physical match.
Stannies eventual victors 31-12

ISA site still not updated with this result which is odd.

It doesn't make much of a difference in the overall program rankings. Pius would drop a little bit - possibly enough for Stannies to overtake them in the points tally but not by a lot (if at all).

Using the points system as I understand it to be, I have created a thread for the CAS & ISA scores to give you an idea how these competitions are progressing and what the potential outcome may be for Term 3 games.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a direct message

Ziggy I'm not certain about this, by the tables at ISA would indicate that they are using Points Average not Points as who sits on top of the table.

Your tables look the same as mine for ISA so it's probably academic

Is there a reason for Pius terrible performance?
Pius doing really well in the 1sts and 2nds and not bad in the 14s. I wouldnt call that terrible.

Ive always found games against Pius hard fought and up for grabs right up to the final whistle.

EDIT - Plus they are running 4th on the program ladder from 7 schools.

Sorry for my negligence, who are the 15As playing?

What was the background on Pius v Stannies Forfeit in 15As. I understand Stannies ended up playing Shore, after Newington forfeited their game.

indicate that they are using Points Average not Points as who sits on top of the table.

Isn't the difference just dividing by 6?

Every Teams Biggest Threat:

OAK: This is a hard one ...... So many great players too choose from that come from both the forward pack and the backline. After watching some games last year I'll have to pick Flynn Farrell. His ability to both control the ruck and tempo of the game is phenomenal. With perfect service from his pass and the sky high box kicks, I personally believe he is the biggest game changer in this team. Although with a good argument I wouldn't mind anyone else choosing the likes of Feltham, Bloomfield and Polley.

AUG: Once again, another team with great players which makes it genuinely hard to choose just one threat. Despite this I'll have to go with
Noah Rylands. After watching him play in the U 18's Australia trial games he is the real deal. With his speed, power and size he is the perfect number 8. His running game paired with his defence, make him one of the best forwards in the ISA comp.

KWS: After a tremendous trial period but disappointing ISA season, Kinross will look to bounce back this year. And its hard not to go past the Australian Schoolboy to help them with that. Oscar Cleary. This kid from the country town is a beast and a perfect number 7. His tacklebusting ability, huge shots and ruck work are immaculate. This beast is in for a big footy season.

SSC: After finishing 3rd on the table last year, its safe to say Stannies are looking to contend for the title this year. A huge contribute to their recent success and who I believe is the biggest threat. Jack Colley. His running game at the number 10 position is what sets him apart from most. The deception and footwork always leave the defence wondering whether he'll pass..... or throw that infamous dummie and break the line.

SPX: Similiar to Stannies, Pius had a great season last year with big wins over both ISA and CAS schools. A big standout for me and who I believe is the biggest threat....Kobi Mendel. Let me tell you something, this guy has it all. His ability to kick, pass, run, tackle, and ruck make him the perfect inside centre. He is an incredible player who most definitely will be a massive threat for Pius. (My prediction for ISA 1 XV Inside centre)

GRE: Just like Pius, an incredible player and real threat for gregs is another center. Preston Smallwood. After playing ISA 1 XV last year he deservedly earned that spot. Don't let this leaguey fool you.....he knows how to play rugby. With his footwork and powerful fend he is the biggest threat and a terrific player

ISA WINNER = OAKHILL

Not much too say here. This Oakhill team is stacked and has all the right pieces to help lead them to the ISA Premiership.

BEST PLAYER = OSCAR CLEARY

This might be unexpected to most people but I truly believe this kid will be the best footy player in 2025 ISA footy season. Don't believe me..... watch him play. Like I said before, his running game and defence are textbook but the the most unique part of his game is his ruck work. Lives for the work of the ruck and not afraid to put his body on the line. I watched him play against Barker last year where he took 4 hit ups off the lineout and broke the defensive line 4 times. He hasn't been given the recognition he deserves, which personally I think is a result of being at Kinross

Overall these paragraphs and words are just my opinion so feel free to change it up or disagree.

therugbyfootyguy,

Well Well Well,

If anyone remembers (I doubt it) I made this post 3 months ago about every teams biggest threat along with a predicted outcome for best ISA player and team. Hi Da-S ..... this year there will be semis & finals in ISA. Stannies is hosting all the semis and I think St Gregs will host the finals. A bit like ISA Div 2 used to run it when Oakhill was the host. There is also those games vs CAS as you pointed out.

@RugbyTears

Just coming back to this again. There's only 2 more Saturday's to go this term (Round 6 and 7). The cross over games with CAS start in term 3 and in the joint statement from CAS and ISA there's no mention of semis and finals. Do you know when these semis and finals will take place?

Round 5 Predictions:

Some big match ups this week!

Oakhill V Auggies @ Damien Oval
A HUGE game this week. Home ground advantage to weigh in on this match but I still think Auggies go into this game as favourites. Not to say that Oaks wont give them a work out - it will be tight. But Auggies seem to be continuing on with their dominance this year and I dont see it changing this weekend. Auggies by 5
Program Result - Things are really tight here! These two school are so evenly matched, I think it will be only one game that will swing it. I suspect oakhill 14s may have the upper hand but all games are a coin toss. Oakhill to take the day by one game only.

Pius v Stannies @ Chaplin Oval
Despite a reported wobbly game against Kinross last week, I feel Pius will cotninue on their merry way with a win against Stannies. Hoping that their fields recover in time for some good running Rugby. Pius by 10
Program Result: Things are much closer here. Pius have dominance in the older age groups but Stannies are doing well in the Juniors. It's going to be really tight but predict Stannies by 2 games

Pats v Gregs @ Breen Oval
Another very tight game at Strathfield this weekend. I dont think last week's rersult againt Auggies is reflective of Gregs ability but Pats are showing more fight than predicted. It's going to be super close. My blue black gold blood wont let me tip otherwise but it will be tight. Pats by 3
Program Result: Again, very close across the board. Predict wins for Pats 14s and 16s but everything else will be a nail biter. Pats by one game

St Gregory's were very, very unlucky in that u16s game v St Patrick's.

Given the Top 6 (or Red Pool) for Term 3 appears to be solidifying, I thought of looking at a ladder of the current top six (Waverley, Barker, Knox, Oakhill, Auggies, Pats - obviously might change, but looking likely inho), but actually only three of the six inter conference games have been played in the 1sts.
Barker def Knox
Auggies def Pats
Oakhill drew Auggies

Next round gives us Waverley Knox, before Oakhill Pats and Barker Waverley in the final round.
Then the rep games and holidays.

On other games I suspect Barker will go in with 2 W, and Oakhill and Augs on 1.5W
