Stannies Pats ended up being a good game in the second half. Both teams started to shift the ball and it paid dividends. The lead swapped many times. Pats scored out wide and converted to take the lead with 3 mins to go. Stannies kicked off deep and put a heap of pressure on Pats securing a penalty in the process. Sadly, the Stannies kicker pushed it wide and Pats secured the win.

Auggies v Kinross
Tough game for the Kinross lads at Brooky.
1st XV: Auggies def Kinross 57-19
2nd XV: Auggies def Kinross 51-0
Not sure about the 16s score
Played with might and effort, Auggies just the more skilled team at the end of the day.
Was a good challenge for Kinross however, as they shape up for the biggest game in ISA. (Yes, bigger than Auggies v Oakhill) against Stannies.

Ok let's get back into it shall we :)

Round 6:
Greg's v Oakhill at The Hill
I wish I could predict a tight game here but sadly i dont think this will be the case. If Gregs can keep Oakhill to under 50, i think it will be a good day for them.
Oakhill by 30+
Program prediction - All eyes will be on the 16s for this weekend. Both Oaks and Gregs closely matched in this age group and will be the one game that may stem the tide of a clean sweep. Again - Oakhill for all but one (c'mon Gregs 16s!!!!!)

Pats v Stannies at Breen
MOR for mine. Too very closely matched teams whove had some good wins and some tough losses. Stannies will need to bring the physicality to get up whilst Pats will need to stick to their game plan and have the courage to see it through. Predicting a close Pats win by 5
Program prediction - again, both schools pretty evenly matched across the grades and this weekend will by and large determine who goes into the top half of the draw next term. Pats looking good on the 13s, 14s and 16s and it's a roll of the dice for the other age groups. Predicting a narrow win for Pats by 1 game

Auggies v Kinross at Brookvale
Probably going to be a brutal afternoon for the Kinross lads here. Having struggled early on in the season, Kinross haven't found their feet just yet whilst the 17 all draw against Oakhill has probably sharpened up Auggies. Auggies by a lot. 30+
Program prediction - It's not looking great for Kinross here with comfortable wins for most Auggies team. The game to watch will be the 14s where both teams will be looking for their first win. Auggies will win the day here but predicting Kinross to get up in the 14s for the first time.
You’re right; 16A’s Gregs v Oakhill did seem to be a difference on the day, from what I heard. Oaks won something like 26-21, or similar. Oakhill had five u15 boys playing up, who all did well, with shortages due to location of other 16s games.

It was a good game. Greg's had players out as well and a number out in 1sts & 2nds. They nearly went the length of the field to win it at the end. Oakhills kicking game was the difference.

Mate, I tell ya what, that Stannies vs Pats game ended up being an absolute belter, especially in the second half. First 40? Bit of a slow burn, like a snag on low heat. Both sides were just feeling each other out, kicking for territory, throwing the odd hospital pass, and doing their best impression of a sleepy Sunday social.

But come the second stanza, the boys must’ve sniffed the oranges and remembered they were playing footy, not chess. All of a sudden, the pill started flying out wide, the pace picked up, and the crowd, mostly dads in bucket hats and kids with frozen Cokes, came alive. It was full tilt from both mobs. The lead changed more times than a Tinder addict on a Friday night.

Pats looked slick, found a bit of space down the edge, chucked a couple of cheeky offloads, and bang, they’re over out wide. And credit to the kicker, he nails the conversion from the sideline like it was a lazy training session. 3 minutes on the clock, and Pats are up by a whisker. Crowd’s on the edge of their milk crates, nerves jangling like a pub pokies feature.

But Stannies weren’t done. They kicked off long, like proper deep, almost put it in the next postcode, and came flying up in D like a pack of hungry dogs. Pats were under the pump big time, scrambling like a BBQ with no tongs. And boom, pressure turns into a penalty. Stannies get a shot at goal to steal it at the death.

Whole place goes quiet. The kicker steps up, you could hear a fly sneeze. Lining it up, does the whole deep breath routine, takes the shot…

…and it slides wide. Misses it. The collective "oooohhh" from the Stannies crowd nearly blew the canteen over. Pats boys jump on each other like they’ve just won the lotto, while the Stannies lads are left staring at the turf like someone just cancelled lunch orders.

End of the day though, cracking finish. Great game of schoolboy footy, full of drama, heart, and a bit of old-school grit. Would’ve loved a Stannies comeback, but that’s footy. One kick. One moment. And one very relieved kicker from Pats.

Regards, RB, OUT. ;)

St Aug's v Kinross Results.
1st XV - St Augs won 57-19.
2nd XV - St Augs won 53-0.
16A's - St Augs won 55-0.
15A's - St Augs won 75-5.
14A's - St Augs won 65-0 (not sure exact score but about this).
13A's - St Augs won 67-7.

Another dominant win by St Aug's really sets them up for a great post-season against the top CAS schools. But despite this I cant help but feel for the boys in Orange. They certainly got off to a terrible start by losing against Pats and Gregs ( Both games in Orange mind you). But after watching their game replays against Pius, Oakhill and St Augs, in the first half, they genuinely looked like the better team against all three of them. During the first half of these three games they were either leading, tied or down by 2 at most. They are a good footy team. But as they say........ a game of footy is 2 halves not one. Very excited to see the upcoming game against Kinross and Stannies, I'll definitely be tuning into the livestream. And for the other games I wouldn't be surprised if Pius get the choccy's over St Augs, no doubt they've been looking forward to this after their opening round loss to Oakhill. They certainly have the skill and tika to do so.

Completely agree. Had times when they were leading against all three, just couldn't continue the intensity into the second half. I reckon they got what it takes to defeat Stannies.

Round 7 Predictions:

Auggies v Pius @ Brookvale
This is going to be a great game! Local derby? Two strong teams? Last round of the regular season? Check to all of that. It's going to be great. This will be Pius' opportunity to demonstrate their abilities against a tough opposition. However, I feel now that the season is up and running and Auggies are in full swing, the mountain may be too big to climb for Pius. Predicting a close wiin for Auggies 7+
Program prediction - this will be very interesting Pius will give it to Auggies in the 1s and 2s and those results will be close. predicting a narrow in in the 14s for Pius but suspect Auggies will take all the other grades. 4-2 win to Auggies.

Stannies v Kinross @ Hogwarts
Match of the round for sure. The ancient battle continues! Lets hope we get sunny weather so both teams can play some great running rugby. I agree with other posters talking about Kinross being unlucky this season and going to tip that this is the weekend were that lucks improves! If Kinross can contain the powerful running forwards of Stannies, they will win the day and that's my tip. Kinross by a whisker
program prediction - This could be tight - I'm predicting a narrow win for Kinross in the 13s and I've got my money on their 1s and 2s as well. Suspect home grown advantage may play a role here so whilst I'd like to see a 3 all draw, I think the result will be 4-2 Stannies.

Oakhill v Pats @ Damian Oval
The smart money says Oakhill by a margin but I dont think it will be that simple. I watched Stannies throw everything and the kitchen sink at the Pats defensive line last week and for most part, it held firm. Pats set piece is quite good so if they can continue doing the basics right and stop Oakhill from scoring freely, panic may set in. It hurts me to say but predicting a Oaks win by 10+
Program prediction - All eyes will be on the 16s and 14s this Saturday (the two grades where Pats leads Oakhill) and the 13s where both teams are currently tied for second place. Predict wins for Oaks in the 1s, 2s and 15s and then the rest will be a red hot contest. 3 all draw!
