Joeys 2 in Blue not 3 14 overall

Is the Grammar fella (Smith) their no 8? I watched a bit of their game v King’s and if it’s him a heap of us were commenting on how much of a standout he was. Admittedly a genuine 1st grader playing against 3rd graders, but he wouldn’t have looked out of place in any 1st grade team.

We were just talking about the Joeys surface over dinner. My son has played there two weeks in a row and complained about it being really slippery.

He wears plastic moulded boots. Do the Joeys boys wear long sprigs?

Most do. Football players wear molded boots mostly don't they? Joeys encourages sprigs

Wasn’t that the Joeys 15A team that beat the undefeated Newington team of two years last week?

Last week it was a 14-14 all Draw. New had a try disallowed in the last minute of the game. But the Margins of New wins are getting smaller. New 15As beat Kings 15-5 today, but last year the score was 64-0

Frank was a good man. Gave me a job when I studied in Armidale. Was at the game and it bucketed all match.
Alan Jones was also there I recall and spoke to both teams.
Joeys turned down many penalty conversions in the second half to draw level and TAS held their line. Stoic all game.
I recall the students standing in the rain cheering all match. Great occasion. Good dinner too with the Joeys community afterwards

I was their also Joker in 1985, by any chance did you reside in St.Alberts College. I attended Robb College.
If so small bloody world.

So Shore > Joeys, Joeys = New, therefore, Shore > New? For now at least.

The results in the thirds were SJC 26, Grammar I0, Riverview 21 High 0, Shore 12 Scots 10!, TAS 33 Kings 0. On points SJC and Riveview are both 8, TAS 6, Grammar and Scots 3, Kings and Shore 2, High 0. I haven't checked the maths on cominggames, but it's looking very interesting. SJC and iggies have to be favoured, but TAS has an outside chance of coming through to a another joint premiership with (I think) a possibility of SJC, Iggies and TAS all coming equal first. it's a pretty even comp.

The kings prop goldsmith single handedly destroyed first pick
Joeys front row ... and he is only a reserve!!

Not even in gps blue or white.

The Selectors have no idea ... or at least they sure didn’t see joeys v kings

Or don’t appreciate the dark arts

And then u have joliffe from joeys ... NSW 7s

He can’t get a go in joeys firsts ...what did he do?
Got on the wrong side of someone important?!

I guess there are always selection mysteries

Formerflanker, the solution to shore dropping out... in 2020

....Joeys can field 2 teams . Gold and blue

Certainly this years joeys 2nds would go close to beating all

My back line of gps omissions

9. Thomas hannan (j)
10 . Bowen (r)
11 joliffe (j)
12. Pensini (k)
13 Mack ( n)
14 maffey (j)
15 sualli (k)

Altgh I do concede probably injuries reason for omissions

Forwards

I wonder when GPS rugby will become a 5 team competition. There must be a limited commitment to tradition; multiple losses by Shore may lead to a re-think of their place in the GPS competition.

Hello Formerflanker

Currently, your 15As are recognised as a force in their competition, also the 16As I believe are a useful force as well. I feel Shore supporters just need to patience for a few more years.

Thanks Jim. Joeys 3rds and Riverview 3rds meet in round 5 at the beginning of next term. Assuming no draw, one of them will be undefeated on 10 points after that game. If Riverview wins, TAS have a chance to tie the premiership in round 7 when they play View. If Joeys wins, it will be harder for TAS because Joeys have already played them and won in round 1.
