@Joker Im not trying to be a troll just as someone who is involved with the CAS comp, what do you mean by the CAS thread is in the hands of cycoplath, does that potentially mean it could be re-opened?
It is simple.

He closed it, he makes the final decision on it.
Likewise I shut down the AAGPS thread and I reopened it after examining the facts.
My role is to support Cyclopath on what he decides.

Played Stannies.

I believe the Newington 15As played the Shore 15Cs

Shore 15Bs beat Grammar 15As 33-17
The Chairman, not usually inaccurate, but this time a correction is required.
Shore 15A v SSC 15A and won 36-0 (it was great that Stannies plugged the hole left by NC)
Shore 15B v SGS 15A and won 33-21
Shore 15C v SSC 15B - no result yet
Shore 15D v NC 15B and lost 15-22
Shore 15E v NC 15C and lost 0-38 - mismatch???

NC 15A v SIC 15B and lost 5-64!!!!

I watched the last couple of weeks at Joeys, Like a few people on this, I always seek to sit in the same place. There is another on this forum that I generally sit with a few years older.

While Newington had a very solid game against Joeys, you never felt Joeys were out of it. Yesterday, pretty simply you did.

Joeys kicked alot of ball away last week, this week a run at all costs first half punished them.

For the first time I saw their scrum get monstered, and more importantly neither their forwards no backs made ground consistently.

Passes in the backs were often at shoulder height presenting rib cages which Kings took full advantage of.

If joeys want to be anywhere near the top on this, then they must get some go forward up front. Their 10 is being murdered because of the backfoot ball.

In the backs, They Crabbed pretty much all day. Part off this is the ball, Part of it may be not. The Joeys 2nds backline is square and consequently forces sides to square up and they feed off it. The key to 2nds is the pack and the speed of delivery.

The truth of the matter is that the scoreline did not fully reflect the dominance kings had.

Even when the 2nds 5/8 came on, he had little impact because of the poor quality ball.

Justice had a tough day at the back of a retreating scrum.

This pressure played into heaps of Dropped ball from Joeys.

A tough Thursday Game awaits against Scots and I fear the heads are down.

The following game against View could realistically see Joeys 1 from 5.

Hurts to say this as an old boy, but, thats what I saw

Well done to the kings cows, they would be mooing all the way back to parra.
Beef out

Apologies there.

Newington 15As not playing Shore 15As is very strange.

I always used to remember the NC As were fantastic, but the Bs were pretty average.

Not good signs for the program there

My how things change!
16 games of rugby played (that is the extent of NC rugby playing strength), with 8 wins apiece to both E & NC. Of the games played only 5 were like matches; i.e. A v A, etc. Read into that what you will.

Joeys 2nds are an impressive lot. The game plan they play is different than the 1st's. The overall principal is not to let the ball stop. The back up support is impressive as many players where able to get a ball away to running support player. They are a selfless team I feel who celebrate the process involved in a try rather than the bloke who put it down. They are the closest example I have seen of a Brother Henry team. Even those senior to me who saw the Br. Henry principle in action agreed this team seems to be using the ideals of fast running, support always and speed, speed, speed. Kings were not a bad team, they were simply blown away. Congratulations to the two old boy coaches.
Dont know whether you are saying it or not but there is some muttering about maybe time for a change in the Joeys firsts coaches, like many jobs after a while people get stale and new ideas ( or maybe old ones revisited) are needed.

What are the results from the junior teams on the weekend kings vs joeys ?

also a fun fact I learnt, kings have now beaten joeys the last 5 matches in a row. And in the last 10 years joeys have only won 5 matches against kings.

could kings be joeys bogey team as off late

Dear AAGPS students, old boys, parents and supporters.

I have deliberated with many people about the future of this thread. A lot happened on Thursday which led to the situation we are in.
To begin with let’s look at some facts.

1. The CAS thread was closed after a multitude of trolls invaded. The thread was closed by Cyclopath as between the two of us we could not keep up with the moderation process.

2. These trolls then descended upon the AAGPS thread. To the credit of the regular posters, they tried to stay out of it. The trolls once more overwhelmed us and hence I shut it down.

3. Trolls then turned their attention to other threads which ended up with them being locked.

Yesterday I was resigned to the possibility that the AAGPS and CAS thread were both going to be deleted and this was the best way forward.

Throughout Saturday I meet many student members, parents and even staff who expressed their disappointment. People commented that over the past few months they had seen an improvement, mainly because the students who were there, were, following the guidelines. This is a credit to their schools, family and the maturity they show. In other words, people missed the thread and knew why it was pulled.

It was late in the day when I was approached by a small group of Kings lads who wanted to say hello. They as well expressed the disappointment and said I should carry a bigger hammer. So, with in mind, here are conditions for the next few months.

For offending posts, no warning will be given, posts deleted.
Permanent bans immediately for the poster and no chance of return.
Existing members who respond in kind to trolls will get the same treatment. Rise above the taunts.
NEW members will not be accepted till further notice.

The CAS thread is the hands of @cyclopath

The thread is open. How long is up to all of us.

Joker
I agree, with the influx of trolls insta bans is the best way forward
