Are there PONI's(players of national interest) again this year?
Love my Poni's

Hopefully very late in the year ! It’s proven to be a reputation pick for some that has not warranted the interest. Let’s hope it’s reflective of the season played and the upcoming clashes and state team selections as how close are the ARU or RA to this level at this stage.

I would just like to say, I was impressed with the line outs from Shore on the weekend. Although they don’t have The Galtitude, they have really improved compared to the last few games. This is surprising considering they have more forwards out than ever, but the boys had a high completion rate and folded into malls well.

yep, killed it last year.

if rugby au had the hopes of winning a World Cup they would pick him in 18s again. We let players like skelton play for France clubs then the wallabies we should be letting this young lad aswell.

if we see him in a French jersey I might just start supporting them. Imagine in 10 years time the back row of Fonua, Heinz and justice.
imagine that won’t be the back row in 10 years time

I hope they let them play out the rep season. Players were from the PONI system missed selection last year in the Aus 18s. While this is good because it means form is dictating selections it also leaves a few ego bruises on middle aged men who love a new embroided spray jacket and chinos every season.

I like the system myself. Rugby has limited resources in Aus so centralising it and focusing has to be done but it needs more refinement in regards to contracting and not just selecting players into a squad that essentially means nothing but a pat on the back. They're still free agents to sign anywhere they want. It should be a capture squad first and foremost.
