NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Newington prop (shoulder/collarbone) and lock (ankle/knee) both went off during the Shore game. With the 5 starters that were already out injured its a test of their depth. Had to call up some Year 10s last week - which then hurt the 16s and 15s.

No idea how many of the 7 who either missed or got injured last week will be available Thursday. I believe that Simmons the no 8 and captain is out for another week or two (rib cartilage) and potentially one of the starting props, Sheck or Viliamu (both have not played this season) may be available.

viliamu played 30 minutes in the seconds against shore and looked strong with the ball in hand. Not sure what his restrictions are regarding thursday however.

Was actually a better weekend for the sky blue and white boys. While not many wins the majority were competitive which is often not the case against the Joe boys.

Its lovely to see competitive efforts across the board, especially against the cerise & blue.

13's had three starters missing and a yellow - were still in the sheds down 19-0 in the first 10 mins, then decided to play 12-12 in the remaining 40 mins) It will be a great contest in Term 3. Plenty of banter

Think Minto will be picked in Presidents. I’d put O’Connor/Roberts-Lintmeijer to the wing and Scarr at 13. Tough one for Shore losing Galligan as well, he’s one NSW rugby should be looking for with his potential.

How do we feel about the 2nds comp, me personally I see joeys as a favourite with their flashy play from the youngsters and discipline of the veterans. But don’t be stupid enough to count out the view 2nds squad, they gave newington a good smackdown then unfortunately through some very average play tied to Scot’s 2nds. Their combination of backing the young and leadership from 2nds repeaters has me grovelling as to who is more of the favourite.
Not straight!

Joeys I reckon will be tough to beat but if there’s any team to give them a run for there money on their day it’s the Riverview boys. It will be an interesting match up in a few weekends time.

addressing the forum broadly there has been significant interest in this year spaghetti cup, as a man with intimate knowledge of the comp and more specifically views very own nic9ths I will do my best to regularly update the forum on the landscape of the socials division of GPS rugby. before my synopsis I would like to thank the @Joker for his support in the team, I hope he will be in attendance in 2 weekends time to watch the most important match in the spaghetti cup calendar of riverview vs joeys.

now; there are 5 teams in the spaggeti cup this year, unfortunately shore couldnt feild a team

2. joeys Nicotine 9ths
3. Kings eightball 8ths
4. scotts 7ths
5. newington 7ths

Joey and View are the teams to beat this year and will likely be the deciders of each others fates this season. View beat scotts 10ths by over 80 in the pre-season before taking on their 7ths and getting a good win of 27-5 with a few biffs along the way, a very gritty game. Additionally view toweled up newighton by over 60 points. view are yet to play kings and joeys. Similarly Joeys put a massive score on newington and this week beat kings 58-7.

As the stage is set for a game to determine the champs of what is arguably the 3rd most important grade of GPS opens rugby joeys and riverview are rearing for a grudge match filled with gritt, determination and biff. @Joker hope this update and those that follow are appreciated.
