NSW AAGPS 2025 (banter and commentary)

Not completely sure as to why they are playing in this comp. I know a number of years back they opted out of the 3rds comp due to a weak team and a complicated AAGPS program due to the Sydney Grammar 1st XV and SBHS 1st XV in the 3rds comp. However, Newington lost to Riverview 3rd XV in the trial match by approx 20 points which is closer than SBHS seems to be getting. Could we see SBHS 1st XV moving to 4th Comp? Possibly Newington moving up in the near future?
Would be interested to hear others opinions on this.

I have been to most 3s games this season, the funny thing was that Newington 3s played Joeys 3s even though Newington are supposed to be in the 4s comp, strange, isn't it. Although Newington 3s did win there first competition game versing Shore 4s, it was in fact a pretty close game.

There will be possibly a handful of view boys there for the 2nds (If they are lucky) and there may be a bigger group of year 12s who have a free period at the end of the day over there for the kickoff of 1sts

There is no official 4th XV comp.
The official AAGPS competitions are 1st XV, 2nd XV and 3rd XV competitions.
The 3rd XV competition includes the 1st XV teams from Grammar, High and TAS.
If they drop out of this competition they are not in an official AAGPS rugby competition.
It is correct that when the modern 3rd XV competition restarted in 2012, TAS, Grammar and High joined it and Newington did not, largely due to the number of teams (and other factors).
It is also correct that in recent years the Newington 3rd XV has been stronger than the High 1st XV, but the 8 teams in the 3rd XV competition have remained unchanged.

I would love to see Scots lifting their baked goods standard. I know Joeys and Shore are the gold standard as the pies are sourced from independent bakers. I would love to be surprised. Let's hope for the best.
