Interesting how some schools have a habit of employing police & security, as Scots & Joeys have forever. Shore didn't have security until the pitch was stormed in 2023. As of now (until Shore get the win this evening) they haven't stopped any old boys crashing through the north east corner...

Whats the issue to Gough? He has the makings of a very good long term 12 in Rugby. Big, raw bone thing. Nothing was stopping him in the recent NSW games.

100% agree re Garcia / Ghattas. having your 2 play at 7 creates a real disadvantage via a lack of genuine lineout targets (which they are low on anyway). Take a look at Kings last try for proof of that. Minto is only in the centres due to injury (Gough). The back line is now down 2 key strike weapons in Hart and Gough. At least they are playing Scots today who seem to have a single play in the book (14 players do everything possible to get the ball to Heinz)

As will Riverview, sadly, as of two weeks' time, because certain visiting old boys who take schoolboy rugby a tad too seriously decided that it was a great idea a couple of years back to invade the pitch and commence pushing and shoving schoolboys.

You'd find most would have some Police and Ambulance on site when there are that number of people. More visible at Scots as it's a very small area everyone is in as opposed to View, Shore and Joeys which have a bit more expanse for them to wander about.
Mitigation have to be in place with so many members of the public in a venue and very big organisations hosting them.

Having been involved in similar things before these Police wouldn't necessarily be from the local area either. The School would contact NSW Police and apply and they would be supplied from wherever and who's available.
Storming the field isn't their problem either. Schools and GPS rules are meaningless to them. It's pure public safety when you have so many people in one place. No different to shopping centres during Xmas shopping times or things like vivid.

Finally the Joey's boys prayers have been answered. I've watched this kid develop and grow as a rugby player and as a young man. Hopefully he goes out and smashes it like he has been all year.

It's a weird one today for the players. They'll all have a routine that is disrupted. Going to class, taking notes about economies of scale, WW2 and even Optimal Arousal. Boys will be on feet walking around to classes for longer than they would on a saturday game day, they'll be walking past boys in the hall who look up to them. It's a mentally draining day which is completely different to a saturday game. Each school will have different preparation tactics for the midweek game and it's up to each coaching staff to manage the boys before they run out.
Shore go into this game with huge experience of a similar day like today after their game at Allianz earlier in the year, but they seem depleted this week.
