Predicted Newington 1st XV this weekend Vs Cranbrook - Trial 2

1. Viliami A
2. Annikan Richardson
3. Harry Davies
4. Daniel Muir
5. Kupu M
6. Nathan Perkins
7. Ashton Thomas
8. Dylan Simmons
9. Harry Whitaker
10. Keone A-T
11. Heamasi Makasini
12. Jarryd King
13. Braith Sloane
14. Bailey R-L
15. Callum Grantham

Keen to see how they go coming off a narrow loss to Kings - especially With 5 new additions to the side. Just over a week left before round 1 so the side should be starting to finalise.

@Will O"Beers get a grip mate,

Newington should go alright this week with the trial of new combinations as well as dealing with injuries. Newington should seek to play physical game and use their size especially against a lacklustre side in Cranbrook, who are lacking some serious testosterone. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that Newington will look to spread it wide to Heamasi and get him involved early, we'll see if Cranbrook have any brains and how they can prevent it with the struggle of their poor line speed allowing the new backs to spread the rock with ease.

FYI. There have been over 20 lads who have played Joeys 1st XV from Asia.
Its the PNG connection where Joeys has had a pipeline of lads with Chinese Heritage.
A recent one was 2016 Andrew Tse. First row far left

Sharples as well. Just watched him in the U20s game against the Boks. Phenomenal. We will be seeing him at the next RWC would be my guess.

Heard Sydney High are travelling up to Armidale to vs TAS. Their 1st XV is looking really sharp, their centres run the ball real hard. Naeer Nibras captaining their squad at 12, a former U16 GPS boy, he will be exciting to watch. Unfortunately their fullback broke his leg against Shore 4ths last week, but they are looking threatening as a team and it is going to be a tough game against TAS. Anyone got any predictions for the game, how are TAS 1sts and 2nds looking as of late?

Jokes, It's great to see the international students getting around the footy. I think this is important as the game and community surrounding the Sydney areas have become more multicultural, and allowing a platform for the boys to get into the game I know and love is a spectacular sight to see.

Does anyone have Barker and Shore lineups for tomorrow?
Will be a larger squad I assume with fresh bench ? Interestingly that give both teams a chance to trial some players off the bench who have not played a complete game ? Would be interesting to see what if any changes the coaches make in second half. (One aspect of schoolboy rugby is the fatigue in the second half that impacts the speed and size of gaps. As opposed to Super rugby / Test match fresh subs.). Let’s see

There is a Chinese tea room on the top floor, a Chinese study reflection area and a commisioned portrait of a Chinese student in like 1896 who captained the 1stXV. All Fung Shui.
Breaking news out of TSC the TSC 1stXV of 2029 have started there preparations and are ready for GPS glory.

All sounds very racist. There is no place for comments like these in the forum. Get your facts right… The building is called The John Cunningham Student Centre, named after an Old Boy, who was the majority donor. There is no Chinese Tea room and all the crap you listed out. The boys in the photo are not wearing Scots kit and the stadium is definitely not in Australia. It’s disturbing that you’ve spent time to dig around the internet to find this image. You should be banned for comments like these. Absolutely disgusted to read your posts.

Thanks for your input, but no one really asked for your opinion, and it’s not needed in this case. You're entitled to feel strongly, but jumping to accuse others of racism without understanding tone or context only shuts down discussion rather than encouraging it. Not every post is made with malicious intent, and trying to paint it that way does more harm than good. If something bothers you, it's perfectly reasonable to raise it but there’s a better way to do that than attacking people. Taking things out of context or assuming the worst in others does nothing but dishearten them.

On a brighter note I have heard some rumours that the mighty 'bridge' is bring back the donuts, pies and sausage rolls. So get ready for an exciting GPS rugby season, and more excited for a better season from the canteen, lets hope these rumours are true, and that every school takes a step up in regards to their canteens.
