TGS have a weakened side going into the trial match with about 6 first team players out, however I still back it to be a great matchup. My bet would be GT takes this one, but anything can happen.

I have been hearing some big news from grammars end in the past 24 hours as my close mate is the manager for the 1s. By the way to avoid confusion I refer to Churchie as Grammar (Anglican Church Grammar). Anyway his name is James Dew and is a 198cm 93 kg home grown second rower who has had a tremendous offseason playing in the downs apparently for the Dalby Wheatmen. I have heard he is the quickest and fittest forward in the program and he has great hands. Just wandering if anyone has heard of him as he is only in grade 10 and could be the next big thing.

GT still have about 4 out however should be an awesome game - two teams who can win premiership

Not sure if i would call GT a premiership contender but I'm sure the likes of NC, TGS, BBC and BSHS will shake some feather in the top four this year. Would have to wait for GT to knock down one of these front runners in term 3 to take them seriously.

Couldn't agree anymore I just don't know if GT has that strike that the others do especially NC. With the likes of their strike forwards like Hugo Hart and Princeton, as well as their backs who are all signed to different clubs. Also heard young gun Ethan Grimshaw is ready to make a huge impact this year.

Saw Grimshaw play his league, kids electric and a good ball player aswell

This is who I got for my ladder prediction
1. TGS
2. GT
3. NC
4. TSS
5. ACGS
6. BBC
7. BSHS
8. BGS
9. IGS

Top 3 is really hard for me, let me know your opinions.
If I'm being completely honest I'm not too sure about this one especially Toowoomba Grammar at the top. I reckon they are going to have to add another year onto there long premiership drought. I definitely have NC at the top again this year I just can't see anyone getting close, especially considering they have so many people going around for a second time this year coming off of the back of a premiership.

Any news on BBC's (Brisbane Boys College) two gun back rowers. I believe there blindside is year 11 student Fred Bromell. I have heard he is a great ball player however excels on defence, in particular one on one tackle. Great low chop technique. While there other breakaway is also another year 11 student Cormac Burke. I genuinely don't know to much about but the red's scouts I have spoken to rate him very highly. They say he has great line speed while and is extremely strong over the ball. He also apparently not afraid to lay the BOOM. He is quite small however I hear he has the heart of a lion. Sounds a bit like Benji Noble (2023 Openside Flanker for Riverview AAGPS 1XV)

With 4 injuries in the forward pack for Terrace I believe we could potentially see a family trio in the starting lineup. Willem, Harrison and Matthew Cassady could be lethal for Terrace. The brother connections between these three could be dangerous to say the least. These three boys rucking over are guaranteed to create momentum for Terrace, so if these injuries prove to be long-term I reckon it is highly likely we could see the first ever family trio starting for a GPS team.

Haven’t heard of these kids before are you sure they go to GT. Are they triplets? Highly doubt supercoach Adrian Thompson would make this bold of a decision with the season so close around the corner.

I see Toowoomba Grammar breaking this 68 year drought this season. Who do you have in your top 3 besides NC? Good point on the NC boys having already won a prem, but don’t you think this would just give more hunger to the boys who came ever so short last year.

I did hear about this however lets not act like Terrace wouldn't be better without there original Tighthead Sensation Xavier Coorey. Coorey is out for 6 weeks with a broken forearm, after delivering a swinging to Brisbane Grammars winger off the first kick-off. Coorey is tough and strong ball runner. He pairs great with Nick Weir in the scrum however if Weir does not return it will be interesting to see how him and Willem Cassidy pack down together.

I believe with Alec, Cody, Coorey, Nick out I think Willem and Harrison are set to start for the XV after playing 2s last week with Matthew due to play 16As. If all three can perform this weekend I don't see why they all shouldn't be given a shot to play together, after all it is the last chance due to Willem opting not to do grade 11 and 12 over three years.
