wests backline this weekend looks phenomenal but they missing their leader Carter G… perhaps a wallaby call up? If not he will need to be on the bench this weekend so he can meet his minimum 6 games quota for finals.

You would think he isn't in the Wallabies squad, it's due to be announced shortly but has been confirmed Foley has been added as 10 cover.

Possible he is resting because Wests are safe? They might just run him on the end the game so he can get his games up.

I did see the Foley chatter but there’s been much discussion about promoting one of the other prodigy flyhalves… squad announced at 330pm so wait and see.

There is no quota for contracted players only for non-contracted.

Well last year that only applied for the reds contracted players and not the rebel players.

If this was the case I wonder why wests didn’t roll out a full strength lineup last year featuring the likes of Trevor Horsea and Matt Gibbon

sorry that could of been associated with registration date as well. Pretty sure gibbon was with bulldogs before the cut off date.

Contracted player finals qualification exemptions relate to Reds contracted players not players of other Super franchises they need to play 6 games to qualify.

Also team finals qualification - if two teams/clubs finish on same competition points the first parameter used to split them is games won, then if the same it goes to for and against, then if still not split it might go to tries scored and lastly a coin toss.

It is all Rugby Australia or QRU or AU 7 contracted player. Provided they have the season registration.

Ok it has changed then. Do all Australian Super rugby players have Rugby Australia contracts or could they just be contracted to their Super club?

Was that updated last season or this season?

It definitely hasn't been the case in the past, I probably bring this up every year but GPS missed out McMahon and Hegarty playing finals a number of years ago because they were Rebels contracted.
