Rebels 2022

Been a point of frustration all year. All sides not just the Rebels have to be better at this. The AFL puts out an injury list each week. You can check your side and the team you are playing that week see who is unavailable and when they are expected to return. It adds to the fan experience

we could learn a lot from the storm

We are in Melbourne, next to the Storm, the Pies, the Tigers, Dees and Victory all of those clubs are successful even the Dees have final turned the corner.

My point is yes they all play different sports but that is the beauty of it. They will all have their way of doing things that will be foreign to most Rugby Union clubs. We should lean on them for support ideas see what they do that works.

Bunch of rot from Wayne Smith, suggesting that by not attempting a converted try after the siren, we somehow tarnished the legacy of John Landy.

Give me a break!

Absolute garbage piece he has written, the Rebels didn't need to stop the Highlanders scoring a bonus point.
The Force should have gone harder to secure an extra bonus point somewhere in the season for themselves and then it would have been a moot point.
Maybe we should have thrown the game we won against the Force earlier in the season it would have had the same result.
The Rebels should play the game only to promote the Rebels position and not to help any other team to their own detriment.

I doubt he would write a report patting us on the back for the great sporting gesture had we tried and lost.
In fact, had we gone for another try and somehow lost the game, very possible given it's the Rebels, I suspect he would have written a column lambasting us for trying to manufacture a result for another team and called the Rebels integrity into doubt.

I tend to think what’s actually in the article, seems a pretty levelled article on the issue, and he closes with agreeing that the decision made was probably the right one;
But they have had too few good days this season to realistically expect that they would risk it all for any rival

Kevin Foote can talk about love all he likes, but his tenure would've been over if he'd instructed the guys to chase a BP win after the siren only to see an intercept try from Highlanders.

Smith really grasping for inspiration on a wet wednesday.

It's just a clickbait headline to cover for some typical Wayne Smith old man dribble that doesn't really have a point but he needed to submit an article, so here are the contents of his brain laid bare...

Going to state the obvious here and say that letting Carter Gordon settle into the 10 role with To'omua at 12 was the smart move. He's still got some development ahead of him but he started to play some great footy towards the end of the season. Hopefully Pup has one more season in him, this time with no head knocks!

Yeh look let’s say rebels were up 10 points and force needed rebels up by 15 points to get into the finals. Then would have a case in point. But as going for the try and risking losing the game by keeping the ball in play absolutely was the correct decision. Could you imagine the outcry from rebels fans If they went for the try and turned the ball over and highlanders scored and they lost the game.

Rebels made the correct decision and a decision all other super rugby oz sides including the force would have made in the same position.

If the force didn’t lose by 51 to the Highlanders they make finals. It’s as simple as that

Exactly, a few seasons ago Coleman opted to go for a win when they had a simple shot for 3 and a tie, they didn't win the game, lost momentum and missed the final 4 by a point.
