I was only referring to this season. I can't recall whether he was injured much or at all last year but it hasn't really seemed to stand out.

To even consider them being unreliable is to downplay their efforts. The guys put their body on the line every game and obviously whether you are a big man like Horwill or not, something will give when you put yourself out there, just like supporters like them to play. It's not as if they are not having a go!!

Who will be our bench lock now? McDuling gone, Van still injured, Radike not a genuine lock or anywhere near form at the moment

My money is on them bringing Samo back in. I know he's not a lock and yes his form is down (made some errors at crucial times on the weekend for GPS) but with the rest of these games being must win I think Link would rather prefer to have the old warhorse who's been there and done it rather than put a new bloke in the situation.

Are there even any club 2nd rowers who would be ready for Super Rugby yet? I've watched a few games this year and one area I think is actually lacking would be quality 2nd rowers.

Its such a shame for Horwill. It seemed like they'd be reducing his minutes to prevent exactly this happening and so he wouldn't burn out before the end of the season.

Damn, that sucks. Hopefully this is just Fox jumping the gun in an effort to get the scoop. It did not look good on the night though.

Horwill is quoted as saying it's worse than originally expected, and that he plans on seeking specialists in Australia and overseas to try and work out the best solution...

Vandal has been training. Not sure what load though. I should follow that up.

The only thing i have to say to that is you must not be looking in the right places.. Horwill has been enormous the past 18months... he started slow this year but hit top form the past 4 weeks.

Just to clarify my post, I said that Horwell is NOT unreliable, and was comparing the fact that he too has had two injuries like Ben Lucas, who is being called unreliable.
What I'm saying is neither are unreliable 2040.

'Clarity in hindsight requires effort from others'.

I was just thinking of the thread header "Reds 2013' and realised the thread has lost direction.
For next year I don't see Samo or Van been around.
Horwill getting injured does make you realise that other than AWH (and he's getting on in age) we are a bit short in the locks department (no pun intended).
Anyone know what plans are in place to address this?
