Quade the next to return from overseas?
Queensland Rugby executive general manager Daniel Herbert confirmed the Reds would love to see Cooper back at Ballymore. He said he had long been a supporter of the enigmatic number 10 and would love to have him as part of what looks to be a top-line rebuild.
"There's always room for quality, isn't there? There's room (for Cooper). The desire is there. We don't like to comment until things have solidified but yes, there's room," Herbert said.

We don't have a coach, but I don't see a player like Smith coming to a team like QLD without some assurances over who is the coach. We can only wait and see. And good for him if he has coaching aspirations. I'd be more than happy to see him develop those in QLD too.

No flyhalf? QC (Quade Cooper) a strong candidate from all reports, but you are right we need it confirmed.

Lock depth has confounded me. Simmons, Douglas and Neville aint a bad start. Chuck in 3 of the Oz U20 locks and it aint bad back up.

Some more signings to come, don't you worry about that
Have to be Fisher, surely

Laurie would be a very good choice, however it would be interesting to see the selection process if it is the case.

Smith makes me happy. Hate that Gill is going but this is the best possible alternative.

On the coaching front I'd like someone with success in their recent history, preferably at Super level or above. I'm not against the idea of Lancaster though. He has made all the right noises since his dismissal and seems keen to improve.

No chance of Holmes reconsidering?

Cheika has been quite open about Quade since he got the job. Gave every appearance of giving Quade every chance of playing back into form, didnt look likely, gave him a shot at second playmaker, no, and still had him guide the Aussie "B''s".

Then supported his 7's attempt and constantly encouraging a return.

At this point I'd be gob-smacked if we dont see a return. And then we need to dampen enthusiasn because the bloke STIL needs to play himself back into form. He'll need to polish up for the Reds let alone think about worrying Foley.

I'm really enjoying this "reverse osmosis" of foreign names returning to Aus with Brisbane seeming to be the prefered home ground.

HC list of Blackadder, Fisher, Lancaster?

With all the calls here to strengthen the outside backs, what chance JOC (James O'Connor) returning?

:p Don't be like that. As much need for him in Canberra as QLD and it would aid him in playing for every Aus franchise which seems to be a goal.

I don't see massive issues with the outside backs. Good thing too as a return of Cooper will see the Reds getting very close to the salary cap I would imagine.

Mate - it wasn't up to Holmes ! He WANTED to stay

For some inexcusable and stupid reason, the Reds didn't want him.

Whoever made THAT decision needs to be reamed out bigtime.

Reds look incredibly powerful in all forward spots bar one, Number 3.

Also hearing that the are definitely more signings to come. Including one big like 'oooo wow'. Thats not including Cooper.

My theory that they will be targeting Cummins.

Also I think that unless we sign another good centre (atm we only have taefu, DP & Magnay with Kerevi), that they try and move hunt back to 12 and sign a full back with good positional play and rugby nous, to complement the ball running wingers. I'm thinking try to bring in Mogg as a steady, specialist 15. Nothing great but a steady hand, with a good understanding of 15 play and a bit boot.

I think Mogg just re-signed in the NH so he isn't an option..

Daley scrum end well in the few games he played at the start of the season, as far as depth goes he is better then what other Aus Super Rugby teams have.. But the question is his physically durability, is he injury prone or just really unlucky? I would keep Daley over Paraka based on scrummaging and general play.
