Rugby Championship 2025 : Wallabies v Argentina Rnd 2

jeez I hope Lukhan plays well - which I think he will. Hooper is obviously off for his sabbatical in 2026 and if this pushes him down the pecking order because an Australian based player has knocked him down a peg or two - then thats a good thing in our massive loss of talent from our Supe teams.
Just maybe the bias of Australian based players being for teh Wallabies may make players consider going os.

I want every player that pulls on the gold jersey to do well. I want any number 10 to take their chance by the scruff of the neck and own the jersey for the next 10 years.

So, no. I'm not in the least biased.

And I never deathride a player ad nauseum for any perceived slights.

Every single one of them has surpassed by far what anyone here could ever hope to achieve in rugby.
I respect that, no matter what.
I hope this is the case for all Wallabies fans, as much as we all know Reds players should be first picked :), I would have been happy for Lolesio to play for 10-15 years and be considered the greatest 10 ever for the Wallabies.

I want this for every player in Gold, I want them to be better than any player before them and have a long career.

"Every single one of them has surpassed by far what anyone here could ever hope to achieve in rugby.

Eh? I mean, wt actual f have I been reading for weeks? If it's not death riding Tom I don't know what to call it. I've rarely dived into your diatribe, but honestly... I'll stop there.

On paper Len's a huge loss. But paisami is pretty safe hands. Experienced, physical, capable of match turning moments at test level. I think the big knock on him has been that he's a bit too one dimensional for the wallabies but he should theoretically fit in well with schidts very direct game plan.

Tbh Edmed im not sold on but im not super worried because he has the benefit of coming into a side thats confident and playing good rugby..makes a big difference blooding guys in a team that knows what theyre doing; a privilege so few wallaby 10s have had. I liked his effort off the bench against SA. Fingers crossed he feeds off his team mates and produces something special

Joe has done a really good job of building hunger for these guys waiting in the background so when they have come in they have done a job. Hopefully that will be the same for Hunter and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto).

Joe is a smart man and if Ikitau is going to miss a lot of games coming up then they need to test the other combos. Unfortunately edmed is just a case of last man standing

Also was BPA dropped for Nasser or was there an injury/resting there?

Unsure why we're complaining about Len being rested. He busted his shoulder in essentially the same corresponding fixture 2 years ago and missed the WC.

Better to use this time to help build squad depth than not preparing for an unfortunate event.

I read that Len has a badly cut knee that is not healing as quickly as hoped. He is a critical component of the team to play AB's and I agree he should be rested and fixed prior to the Bledisloe.

If it means Len goes into the NZ games 20% healthier than he would have otherwise I'm all for it. Other players get the chance to show their worth as well.

Hunter will be fine (Choosing to be glass half full). He's not Ikitau and he shouldn't try and be him. Hunter should go out there with his spin on it and put a bruise right in the middle of a Pumas chest.

is there a case for LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) beginning then Williams off the bench like he has been doing well lately ?
according to google LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is 123 kg, Williams is 119 kg & T Hooper is only 112 kg ??? just watching them on the field i thought LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) was the heaviest then Hooper then Williams ...
I think he fits in with the Bell roll of having some dynamics off the bench so there is less drop off in the back half

Hunter has played 31 tests and most of last season, I don't think his ceiling is that low but ceiling probably isn't that high at test level

paisami needs to demonstrate some discipline in defence and keep his links with the 10/13, the argies took our centres apart at times, we need those connections

OK - put up a name on who should wear 12 that isn't Len or Hunter.
I'm not saying Hunter isn't our 2nd best 12 - as I said he doesn't have a low ceiling and has played a fair few tests including much of last year until JAS came along. But it's clear he doesn't have a high ceiling at test level, 12 is a weak position for us in terms of depth

To answer your question - Hamish Stewart if those two were unavailable

which highlights the problem, and for even more fun wasn't Joey Walton running around on the edges of the squad as well

but that would improve the clicks here
