Rugby Championship 2025: Wallabies v Argentina

Schmidty was also comfortable to throw JAS out at Twiks on debut in Rugby...

I think he's a very good judge of talent and knows who can do what, and where they can excel while improving those around them.

So far he seems to reward the previous efforts in gold and you almost need to warrant being dropped before someone earns their way up. Bit like the Australian Cricket team. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) may need to wait for an opportunity then grab it.
Agree, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) in a similar boat that Toole was in. Did nothing wrong but needed to bide his time until injuries hit.

Hooper to lock is a great call. He's been one of our best Forwards since coming in, and plays an abrasive style that we need from a lock next to Frost. I'm quite confused with people saying LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is like Skelton, in what way does he play anything like Skelton?

Kellaway is also the best option at 15. Guy has become really underrated for some reason. He's experienced, good under the high ball and a really smart player, which is needed considering how much Wright was involved in organization. It makes no sense to move our form winger to fullback or our developing Centre

I'm a big fan of Hooper. Not sure he's a test standard lock but it'll be great to find out how he goes. If he can do his job, we'll have very dangerous in the fwd pack.
Assuming we go 5/3 that would mean Nonggorr, BPA, Bell, Williams and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) which I think is pretty bloody good!
I agree that Kellaway should start at fullback because it keeps everything else stable. And we can always throw Max or JAS there later on depending how we're travelling.
Personally, I would start Lynagh and have JOC (James O'Connor) finish because that I believe that's the best way forward. But I understand Joe's reasoning with having players embedded in the set up for multiple weeks.
1. Slipper or Ross
2. Pollard
3. TT
4. Frost
5. Hooper
6. Valetini
7. McReight

I would say he has not excelled in the centre, and many are calling for him to be put on the wing, where we need some height.
Len is one of the great players in the Wallabies and has made a good fist of 12. Has that move improved the team?
All will be revealed today.

I know correlation isn't causation but we've been England at Twickenham, won a Lions test and beaten South Africa at Ellis Park for the first time in over 60 years.

I reckon JAS is going pretty well at centre and the team has absolutely improved.

Agree. What could have been in the Lions series if doesn't get that shoulder tackle to his knees in the first test and gets that pass away in before getting tackled from behind in the 2nd test. He's clearly going to get better with quality coaching.

while most will agree JAS has plenty more upside I still think he has been fantastic. He's straightened opposition defensive lines and more space has been created for the outside backs. Also Len is good but the superlatives attributed to his 13 play are sometimes a long bow. They're an excellent combo and even if Len does go to 13 the new 12 has a large gap to the potential of JAS; palsami, kerevi or otherwise

That’s good if he’s fit he should be starting

JOC (James O'Connor) has proven himself off the bench

We’ve had so many issues at 10 over the years and after picking him in the Lions we have to pick and stick with Lynagh now until the WC

JOC (James O'Connor) was only meant to provide cover while our three tens were all injured at the same time

Perhaps lower rated than earlier in his career, rather than underrated. Over his last couple of years with the Rebels and currently with the Tahs and Wallabies, he often misses tackles he shouldn't and his passing game has sometimes gone to putty, with many going straight into touch or missing the intended target.

I hope he can put those sorts of errors behind him and he has an outstanding game at 15.

Do people raving about how impressive Arg are because they made the WC Semi realise that there were no Top 5 teams on that side of the draw so they only had to beat Chile, Japan, Samoa and Wales - who were still very poor back then

The only two genuine Tier 1 side they faced they lost both times - and the first time against England was a heavy defeat - a side that lost to Fiji pre world cup

The press release has Lynagh, so I think we can blame the social media intern for this one, and not Joe Schmidt's forensic attention to detail in drafting press releases

I agree with you on sticking with Lynagh on 10, but I'm really afraid he might medically retire due to his frequent head knocks. I hope not, for RA and himself, but he is quite literally one concussion away from retiring.
