RWC 2027 Australia

Isn't just that there's so much money in the scoccer WC that they can pay their way around any problem, whereas we have a bunch of semi-pro teams and players involved who have to have surety around their arrangements and costs for planning purposes?

It doesn't matter where England is based, but it really matters to Uruguay, Zimbabwe and Tonga where they are based

I wouldn't really call appropriate facilities 'luxuries' for a top-tier professional sport's flagship event
Neither would I - I meant the nearly 2 years to find the facilities.

9-12 months should be sufficient for most teams, with the assistance of WR (World Rugby) for lower tier/ semi-pro nations.

The NRL GF being the first weekend in October and AFL the last in September will make a lot of facilities available for requests

Australia is a hosting country that has plenty of them though. Most Private Schools are running around with training facilities at professional standards.

Universities too.

In QLD at least a lot of prep has gone into training facilities for the 2032 olympics already and school, universities, camps are already positioning and pitching for training camps.

It's an unnecessarily long time to be seeding teams for the world cup and for some unknown reason I'm really passionate about this now

Facilities are the sort of thing that should be handled by the tournament itself and then assigned to the teams based on their pools. I'm not sure an extra year is that helpful to the smaller teams either, I think it probably only really helps the rich nations who are able to shop around.

The idea of no extra time until a winner in this sucks.

Congrats Samoa, but absolutely gut wrenching for Belgium to miss it on a draw. Whilst you have the same tournament opponents, every game is different, lineups, conditions etc.

This is the second time in a row that the qualifier has gone through on a draw too.

What are the odds.

I wonder if, now they are qualified, all of a sudden a bunch of big names are suddenly available to play for them..
This is exactly what will happen. The world cup year team is always stacked. It's sad that both the SRU and the players clubs individually can't facilitate the players to play regularly for the national team.

Samoa should be able to put together a very strong team for the world cup, and should have won this game by 20 - but a great effort by Belgium to get so close. Unlucky for them that Samoa were so much weaker in the PNC (Pacific Nations Cup) and they didn't get to play USA or Chile in the repechage instead. Or that Asia got an automatic qualifying spot, because you'd certainly back Belgium to beat Hong Kong.

I think there needs to be a smaller 3rd division of the Nations Championship/Cup so that teams like Belgium get opportunities to continue progressing - otherwise they'll play very few games in the next couple of years. Maybe just a November window tournament for the next best 6 or 8 teams held in one location, with the winner promoted to the Nations Cup.

Likely to end up with a major team based right next to Renegades on the Field Of Dreams at this stage, in the Parramatta Eels Centre Of Excellence at Kellyville.

We can loan them the scrum machine I guess. Pretty sure Eels don't have one of those ;)

Hopefully a bunch of local clubs can get some gear post WC. I remember after 03 a heap of stuff being spread around.
