SF2: Chiefs v Brumbies Saturday 14/06

Not controlling the high ball caused them to be defending deep in their own half much of the time. I thought Sapsford should have come onto the wing in place of Muirhead about half way through the first half. He would have been more competitive under the high ball both in attack and defence. I've not been a huge fan of Harry Potter as I think he misses more than a fair share of tackles, but he would be a step up on the outside of the Brumbies backline.

Main failures for me were the lineout and the back three failing to defuse the highball. They also didnt manage the ruck dominance they got against the Canes.

Thought Berry was okay. Couple of bizarre calls but thats an excellent performance in the context of this season.
Agreed, Berry was good, compared to the season so far.. we got beat everywhere basically, Tom Wright was brilliant, I wish he got that try

Brumbies were right in it for 50 minutes, but when the Chiefs picked up their intensity around that point the Brumbies couldn't hang with them and seemed to get rattled. I'd disagree on Wright being brilliant, he had some good moments but he looked really sped up at times and those high ball drops are just killers against a team like the Chiefs

The scoreboard pressure the Chiefs created even when they weren't looking good was a death knell for the Brumbies. Giving away silly penalties every time the Chiefs were in kicking range

Started with real promise. Lots to like but it really did unwravel in a way that just feels too typical of AU teams against NZ teams in recent years.
100% this. It must be mental because every time the Kiwi's put the heat on our team seems to crumble in a way they don't seem to against teams from other nations

Noah going off early certainly made it difficult.
