Gave it away after copping too many head knocks.
I think you're a bit harsh,I thought the wraps on him as a Schoolboy were warranted.

Two-time Catchpole medallist, Dave Harvey has announced his retirement from club rugby to concentrate on his 7s aspirations with Brazil. Good luck to him. I hope he does well and has a great experience at the Olympics.

This is the announcement on Wicks Facebook:

"THE Old Randwick Rugby Union Club is Re-OPENING TODAY 31 December from Lunchtime, to be known as the CLUB HOUSE. ALL WELCOME...please spread the word if you want anyone to know about it..the Re-Union is on!"

Not sure whether this means there is any association with the Wicks rugby team.

Anyone know more?

Coogee Bowling Club have acquired a weekend lease for the old rugby club. They will have it opened and run as a bar on Randwick home games and some Friday nights.

Hobbits? Do you mean Norths?
What would the Wicks offer someone to coach them? Full time gig?
With their club back they might be able to go large?
Can anyone from the club actually confirm what the go is there? I'll be looking to stop by for a cold one soon and check it out

The rugby Club will be open on home games. Run by the Coogee Bowling Club.

Thanks for clearing that up. Hopefully the Wicks can make a bit of money from it one way or another.
I'm tipping them to win the Shute Shield and beat Southern Districts in the final.
Gordon and Easts to push very hard at the business end of the year with the Corporation and the Woods.

^^^ Without seeing the rosters for 2016, you'd have to think Woodies and Hobbits are the early 2016 favourites, with MMM and Rats as outsiders that could surprise.

Not sure the Wicks have any involvement in the licenced club so I don't see how they'll make any money from it. From what I understand, the licenced club was in debt to the rugby club foundation so closing it down and selling the premises should have resulted in the repayment of that debt which was probably the best outcome for the rugby club.

I like your optimism (or are you being tongue in cheek?) about the Wicks winning this year. I can't see it unless there's been a massive recruitment of players. Some of the key players from 2015 (ie Horwitz and Kellaway) may be more involved with the Tahs this year and the 1st grade squad will no doubt include a few promotions from colts1. They'll struggle again I suspect against the grown men playing 1st grade at the likes of Eastwood, Manly and Southern.

Are we too assume that Peter Playford has taken over the reins at Uni?

No announcements re Shannon Fraser as yet? Is that really happening?

Might set the Wicks back if true.

Nick Ryan is 'director of rugby' there. That's for sure. But They haven't named all the coaches for the grades yet.
