Deegan had a good start to the year, but dropped the ball (figuratively and literally) in the last 3 games. He had several kicks charged down due to taking too long to get his kicks away and also dropped the ball twice in his own red zone in the QF and missed crucial tackles, again in the red zone.

From the non-Wicks games I've seen this year I'd rate Jake Gordon or Cohen Masson (carried Woodies for much of the year with players unavailable) as the top picks.

I don't expect them to put the video footage together but something more than just scores would be helpful.

An ex-Norths player, Chris Burnett, is working on video analysis and team statistics with a number of Shute Shield clubs, as well as schools from what I hear.

Just doing a survey at the moment, whilst referencing the NSWRU, and also the SS - how many of our readers and posters were aware of the following starting today, if so how did you hear about it?;

Not me, though I kept searching.
Again - the people in charge of promoting our game are soooo off the pace that it is embarrassing.
I listen to the ABC coverage of Rugby League regularly because when I am driving I have no other choice (except how to think about refugees, climate change, same sex marriage, the opinions of NGO's, Human rights commissions and etc).
They (5 kick) are so far ahead of us in their commitment to kids playing and the development of those same kids.
It is not a matter of money nor inducement only.
We have a vastly more challenging and enjoyable game.
But, when I was watching the the games at the the Aussie Schoolboy's I went up to the top oval at Riverview to see the Loyd Mcdermot, Tassie, Northern territory etc play. I was unfortunate enough to sit in the same place as the selectors, coaches - the flash spray jacket brigade.
They mocked, joked about, and seriously ridiculed those kids.
I thought - what the hell? You jokers have done nothing to be here except play politics, suck up to each other, leave the kids you are mocking (yep, they knew their names) behind for your personal Kudos.
I cannot begin to tell you how pissed off I was about those spray Jackets!
You want an accountable, responsive, NSWRU. cull the elitist and self selecting spray Jacket brigade.
The old leather patch elites at least performed.

I've posted some criticism of Bill Pulver in the past (which I don't retract), but I was impressed (a little bit) to see him sitting with the punters at Forshaw on Saturday and not seeking or expecting any special treatment.
I know him. I hate the elitist wankers in our game - he is not one of them in my estimation. He was probably watching his son play - but I can assure you - unlike others - he could be making a lot more money and getting a lot more love if he carried on with previous business. He is doing what he does for the love of the game.
Not saying he is always right - just saying he is one of us in the love of Rugby

Fair as well.
However i do not know him.
I have spent time reading, understanding, and also reviweing - he's made decisions, adjustments, and i also see he has a love of the game.
I went to the Crescent Head 7s last year, he was also one of the few dad's who made the 5 hour trip and mixed with the community.

If that list is accurate, then Grech must be a mistake.
He is neither a 7 or a 10 :)

Miller

Rookie to Simone or Wileman, who have both been outstanding.
Cron over Coleman.

Not 1 Southern Districts person in this list
Must be having a poor season.
Sean Doyle for player of the year
Matt Gibbon as Rookie of the year. Souths have one of the best scrums
Take the 3 best players out of every team and see how they go, Souths lost Ben Volavola, Alex Gibbon and Paul Asquith so not a bad effort by Matt Barr as coach.

My young bloke was fortunate enough to play in the Lloydies a few years ago. I back up everything you say Coulda, and it was very, very frustrating to hear the comments about "we already know who we are going to select anyway".

My young bloke was then chosen as "backup" for NSW Schoolboys. But when there were injuries etc, they didn't even give him a call - instead they bought in "private" school players. So much for elitism

Anyone know what the qualification criteria are for Catchpole Rookie of the Year?

Will Munro was nominated last year but had played most of the previous year in 1sts and I assume Moa Malepo (Parra) is the same young guy who played 1sts at the Wicks last year.

I just tried to record this weekends games off 7two on Foxtel, 7Two has gone from Foxtel!
I rang Foxtel and they confirmed it, what the hell is going on?

It was not on Foxtel for most of the country in the first place. Seven does have an app you can utilise which I assume will allow you to watch it.

Thanks I just thought it strange that it has been available all year until this week to record on Foxtel and the week of the finals its cut. I would use the app to watch but I be at the game anyway it was just for my post match review!

I assume you can watch it later, obviously depends on whether they archive it or not.
