2016 Gregor George Cup (Club Championship) Watch:
after Round 6

There are a maximum of 215 points available to a club each week, based on all 7 club teams winning with a 4 try BP and the target to win is >3000 points which was achieved by 3 clubs in 2014 and the 2015 winner was on 2905 points. In 2014 the difference between 1st and 2nd was only 33 points, with 3rd only 52 points further back. In 2015 there was only 49 points between 1st and 2nd, with 3rd place 113 points further back.

Sydney University, 1022 points (up 1 place)
Randwick, 1019 points (down 1)
Eastern Suburbs, 932 points
Eastwood, 832 points
Manly, 760 points
Northern Suburbs, 748 points (up 2)
Southern Districts, 649 points (down 1)
Warringah, 630 points (down 1)
Gordon, 599 points
West Harbour, 548 points
Parramatta, 263 points
Penrith, 47 points

How the Club Championship table is calculated.
The competition points from the individual competitions are multiplied by the following factors and then added together.
First Grade - 15
Second Grade - 8
Third Grade - 5
Fourth Grade - 4
Colts 1 - 6
Colts 2 - 3
Colts 3 - 2

The 49 point difference between Gold and Silver in 2015 could have been made up from an extra 3 BP in Shute Shield and an extra BP in 4th Grade, or an extra victory with a BP in 2nd Grade and an extra BP in Colts 1 and Colts 2.

Got to endorse that - one of those contests regardless of the level it is played which define sport not the business of it. No quarter asked or given . Wicks up by 3 after breaking the 17-17 deadlock with a drop goal and just over a minute to go on a dodgy Coogee Oval clock (I reckon it got mentioned more often in the afternoon by the ground announcer than the scorers, sponsors and kiosk contents combined) . Marlins grab game after the bell with a try in corner. Expansive game in wet conditions . Take a bow both sides for playing with the passion absent from another recently made up national rugby competition. Love it

Great day, 4's, and 3's were also close - 2's Wicks touched us up. But gee was interesting seeing / hearing our team on the side line; Cocca, Vai, ?Maraki?, Melrose, Gower, Dombkins, Kotoni, Bergelin, Kava, Vinnie, Mexted, Samuela, Turner, BJ, and may have missed some.

Is young Mexted any relation to the great man?

Perhaps the Wicks were also missing a few

Perhaps the Wicks were also missing a few

Hanigan played the 1st half, out of his moon boot at last.
Nick Kellaway and Mitch Short both out of theirs too, but didn't play yesterday.
Munro recovering from last week's head knock didn't play.
Unlikely we'll see any more of Drew K or Horwitz this year so can't really count them as missing.
Otherwise, probably the strongest team we can put on the field, although I was a bit puzzled as to why Freier was in the run on side ahead of Nau.
No sign of Hoiles this week, although named on the bench for 1sts.

I'd suggest Ma'afu, Weatherall (after a bit more match fitness), and Sam Latunipulu (best in 2nds IMO) will be pressuring for 1st spots over the next few weeks.

Thanks Dave Beat, the video clarified that the Wicks accrued no advantage from the Manly knock-on from the final kick-off. A great game nevertheless. The young Wicks will better for not having the unbeaten tag hanging around their necks.
It came off Kurtley Beales hand and went backwards.

BAZinga

Stan Wickham (3)
After tipping 8 from 8 in my NRL tips last week online, im confident of getting all this weekends predictions correct ;-)

Manly to avenge GF loss to beat Eastwood - Woods still havent clicked IMO. Manly are getting stronger and stronger and with a couple of new signings - big things expected

Norths to beat Gordon by 10+. Norths were on fire last week. Gordon are getting better as the weeks go by but Norths will be too strong at home

Souths to sneak a close victory vs Parra. Both teams have a few changes and this will be a close one

Uni to beat Easts. I watched uni train and they looked red hot! expect that to transpire to the field. Easts are good but i see us coming good here.

Warringah to beat Penrith, but im expecting this to be close. Penrith with some changes in their lineup and I believe Rats not fans of travelling so far out west.

Wests to continue their resurgence and beat Randwick. Wicks seem to have a host of changes and I think this will hurt them.

Thanks for the link.

I see that The Corporation seem to be happy with 2015 Schoolie, Lachlan SWINTON starting in their engine room. Round 7 will be his 3rd run on start for Them.

It is uncommon for a school leaver to be starting in Shute Shield in their first year out of school, with most of these lads being in the Backs department. A big vote of confidence in the lad if they are regular run on squad forwards.

Cody WALKER has had a couple of cameos off the bench for Beasties Shute Shield at Prop, which is an awesome achievement for a previous year Schoolie.

Well done to the pair of them.

WE HAVE A GOAL KICKER !!!!!

Tom Woods named at 15 for the Two Blues,

FIrst game back for the season, bloody good defender and great with the boot,

teams list just made my day!

yes I know I'm easily excited , but we have a goal kicker!!!,!,!,!

Keep your eye out for your 2015 Coltie Second Rower, James BENTON.

During his Colts career, he was awarded the 2014 Colts Golden Boot award for kicking 130 points (47 con, 12 Pen). He was 13 points ahead of the runner up.
From 16 Colts 1 games in 2015, he kicked 93 points (39 con, 5 Pen), and was placed 3rd in the 2015 Golden Boot.

A keeper for the M2Bs. Currently in your 2nd Grade engine room.
