Norths are playing pretty well. Some of the maul tries on the youtube highlights look good. They must be mauling really well. Connor Vest must be a Ken Catchpole favourite given how consistently very well he is playing.

Anyone down at Manly Oval today? - how have the lower grades gone against an increasingly strengthening Gordon club?

According to Fusesport. Manly won 4th grade. Manly won 3rd grade by 1 point. Gordon won 2nd grade by 1 point.

All the 2nd grade games a winning margin of 9 points or less for all teams today.

^^^A clear top 4 has been established, Manly sitting more than a win away in 5th and then Easts, Randwick, Gordon and Souths in another pack fighting it out for 6th. Only Wests and WSTB are out of semi-final contention.

Not even our number 1 Woodie, aka Wamberal would have tipped this at the start of the year.:)

Yes but woods on 37 have had one extra game - they are getting no points this weekend, so subject to other results could drop to 4th

Fixtures this week:

Easts v Souths

Gordon v Randwick

Uni v Manly

Wests v Norths

WSTB v Warringah

You'd expect Norths and Warringah to both win these games. Manly need to beat Uni to stay in touch with the top 4. Really is a must win for the MMMs.

Losers of the first two matches will almost drop out of contention, while the winners keep their hopes well and truly alive.

West Harbour have pushed some pretty strong sides this season. In the cold confines of Concord, Norths may get a surprise.
Randwick played poorly against Uni last week, so Gordon may get the chockies there, too. Especially if Chatswood gets another cracker crowd.
Uni over Manly a cert.

Uni are improving week on week. Are really starting to gel. Similar pattern to last year under Rob Taylor. Shaky start and winning games at the pointy end.

I think Uni and Eastwood most likley to play in the final.

I agree West Harbour could upset anyone, and Easts and Gordon the most likely to move up the ladder

Were Wicks that poor ?
They conceded
3 rolling mauls
1 pushover
1 pick and go
1 intercept

Had a couple of tries disallowed.

IF Marlins can win the territory game v uni, they can beat them.

IF....

Every side knows how Uni like to muscle across from short-range rolling play, yet no-one actually and properly prepares to diffuse it. You say it yourself in that summation of conceded tries. 5 tries from forwards play at or near the line (with #9 crossing for one of those).
With Randwick's two best players being journeyman Freier and Colt coming up Poidevin, there is a huge gap in performance amongst the rest of the squad.
Randwick really should be playing so much better at this stage of the season. To lose by plenty - that last try was a late consolation - is disappointing.

A Uni win at the Village Green is a thing of beauty - only because they are so tough to get.

Gordon seem to have run out of steam after a good start.
