Shute Shield 2022

Of course they shouldn’t. But he did. Shit happens. It was a very easy drop goal which makes the decision to go for it correct.
Yes. If the options are drop goal from 20 m in front, pass left with a possible overlap, or keep recycling waiting for a penalty, I think the droppie is the best of the three in most situations. We might criticise Edmed for trying to win it himself, but I have to respect a skipper and 10 who takes that responsibility when the pressure's on.

Not the result I personally was after but the Uni pack just kept working and working when there kicking game especially box kicking was pretty average. Good game of footy in really poor conditions to cap of a great Shute Shield season. Can't say Angus Gardner is any better than the refs in the Semis or 2nd grade. He definitely puts his stamp on it.....

Also want to mention the Easts 2nd grade win over Uni. What a game. Open game in even worse conditions than 1sts that you never felt was decided until the end.

Hopefully a number of boys get some touring time with a franchise and some with Aus A potentially.

A tough game in tough conditions. Uni just found that edge when it really counted, congrats to the premiers. Have to agree with Angus Gardner comment. All games on the day were of really high quality, geez it was cold and miserable out there...............
