I'm not surprised Blues looked clunky at times as a lot of those Blues players wouldn't have played in 6 months as it was August when Auckland/Harbour/Counties stopped playing NPC.

Robinson's ankle didn't look too good but Ekuasi really looked sharp so there is good loose forward cover if needed.

Not expected to affect Saturday's pre-season matches (Blues v Chiefs, Hurricanes v Crusaders & Highlanders v Moana Pasifika), all of which will be in Queenstown.

A Covid case has been confirmed in Queenstown but after the 9am reporting cutoff so very little detail atm other than Queenstown Airport & a mid-Sunday morning flight out of Aux being named as locations of interest. Blues only flew as far as Wellington Sunday so here's hoping it's not the MP (Moana Pasifika) & Chiefs flight they're talking about.

Edit: MP (Moana Pasifika) only flew down Monday so it's not their flight being looked at. NZR to update their situation "asap".

Blues have all returned negative tests but the one regarded as a close contact will continue to self-isolate for the required ten days (as the PM did recently). Everyone else has resumed training.

Edit: pre-season match v Clan cancelled (again), Tribe v Loss Bleus now a game of three halves with Clan. No announcement yet wrt R1 but hard to see it going ahead even if they back-date the 10- day isolation period to Monday just gone, surely wouldn't leave them enough time to get Match ready, even if it's only Loss Bleus they're playing...
