Eastwood v West Harbour
Colts @ T.G. Millner

Last time we met: Round 3
Colts 1 Draw 22 all
Colts 2 Won 17 – 15
Colts 3 Lost 15 – 28

Colts 3 - 7th Place

Another missed opportunity against a side who had only won one game before Saturday. Eastwood dropped back to 7th after Eastern Suburbs victory over Manly. They are on equal points with 8th placed West Harbour, a team they lost to in Round 3. Warringah and University did us a favour by recording victories over Souths and Wests thus keeping Eastwood final hopes alive but we can't keep relying on others. With chances running out it is important Eastwood get the points over West Harbour this Saturday in what should be a tight contest.

Colts 2 - 8th Place

Penrith made it two wins against Eastwood this season and in the process leap frogged them into 7th place as well as putting doubt in Eastwood finals chances. Now six points behind 6th placed Eastern Suburbs this week's clash with 9th place West Harbour is a must win. With the season on the line for both sides it will come down to who wants it the most and who has the most pride in the jumper.

Colts 1 - 6th Place

Eastwood moved into the six after results of matches last weekend. Warringah defeat of Southern Districts was unexpected and shows upsets in this competition are possible. Northern Suburbs victory over Gordon puts Eastwood within four points of 4th place and a chance this weekend to move up one place should Randwick, as expected, beat Eastern Suburbs. Another loss by Gordon will give Eastwood a crack at 4th.

Ed Craig who had a taste of Grade last weekend will be back to lead the pack in this important clash. Team changes sees James Bamford come into the side at 7 in place of Zac Simpson. Lachlan Burland, who has been in the No. 13 for the entire season, has succumb to injury and is out of the team – replaced by Winger James Sarks who missed the game against Manly.

Eastwood have 10th placed West Harbour, who have just three wins and a draw, this week. With only four games to go and important clashes against Eastern Suburbs and Randwick coming up this is a game Eastwood must win and will win if they bring their A game and attitude.

Club Championship
After Randwick's and University's perfect weekend and Eastwood dropping two Colts games our lead in the club championship has been reduced to just five points. Randwick are up against Eastern Suburbs this weekend and University take on Southern Districts. It will be hard to see them drop any points from Colts this weekend so again it will come down to results in Grade. We will need to perform well across all seven games and maximise points.

^^^I assume that this is the full club championship rather than the colts one?

Both Manly and Warringah would be lower on the colts CC and Gordon much higher.

does anyone know the how players qualify for the finals? do you have to play a certain amount for a grade to be qualified for that grade? Will the new Randwick recruit (big unit) qualify if first game is this week?
can colts eligible grades players drop to colts if their grade team does not play finals?

The rules used to be that you needed to play 3 of the last 5 games in that grade to be eligible. It also used to be that once a player played a certain number of grade games, they couldn't drop back to colts - not sure if that was 3 or 5.

I like to watch

David Codey (61)
Randwick over Easts
Eastwood over West Harbour
Northern over Manly
Gordon over Parramatta
Uni over Southern
Penrith over the Rats in 2nd grade
Looks to be an easy round to tip,so undoubtedly there will be some upsets!
Wicks 30+
Woods 15+
Norths 20+
Gordon 10+
Uni 20+
The Riff to get up in 2's!

Lineout time for Ed Craig playing 3rd Grade and part of 2nd Grade at T.G.Milner last week

Where is the ball? Either my eyes are crook, or that is one doozy of a parabolic lob that Craig has tossed in to his jumper.

How did the young fellow go in Grade?
On what I've seen of him so far, I'd expect he would have been very comfortable playing Grade footy, even though playing in a game where one team wins by well over a 100 points is seldom an accurate indicator of form.

Are they sensitive folk in the Shire? Hobbits saved Middle Earth from evil forces from Mordor. Is that a bad thing?

The Rebels are an outlaw motorcycle club. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebels_Motorcycle_Club
Would you want to be associated with them or some peace loving folk that are fond of an unadventurous, bucolic and simple life of farming, eating, and socialising, although capable of defending their homes courageously if the need arises.

Yet to hear complaints from any folk from the Insular Peninsular about my references to crossing border control on the Spit and Roseville Bridge. Usually rates a laugh.

Rats and Randi-Wix have been referred to as the Green Slime, as is common in rugby circles, and there are plenty of folk on these threads aligned with the Gallopers. Ever been to the Randi-Wix night club? Is that a compliment or complaint? Take your pick. For some the 80's were a good time.

Does no one like the reference to The Corporation, Buildcorp or Beasties? Some sensitive types could consider those terms rather derogatory.

The Gay Gordons? Homophobic? It's a Scottish country dance named after a Scottish Regiment, the Gordon Highlanders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Gordons_(dance)

Perhaps all posters should stop referring to Penrith as The Riff, or Penruff or similar. Not all folk in Rooty Hill, Mount Druitt, St Marys or Werrington are dole bludging, tattooed bogan housos that cant pronuncificate where they come from correctly.

Piggies, Princesses, show ponies, rockstars, fatties, pot plants, pretty boys, book ends, skyscrapers, giraffes, Meat Pies, jackals and whippets. Rugby language is rife with tweeisms, slang, single and double entendre and stereotypes. If everyone stopped this, and talked and typed real proper ABC endorsed and grammatically perfect language, what a fun place that would be?

Mr Jarse I don't recall you personally using many of the terms quoted above but You did forgot to mention one of your favourite names of "Foreskin Park" in reference to Forshaw Park named after Charles Forshaw whose vision, time, dedication & hard work contributed towards the creation of the first rugby club in the Sutherland Region, I'm sure his family would be impressed by your tasteless attempt at humour. You wouldn't be affiliated with the Galloping Greens by any chance would you?

Gee whiz... Its not as though the poor kid has just been drafted in. I am sure that, given the chance, he would have been playing. And if they had a villawood 1st XV, I am sure he would have been in that too.
I think the kid will qualify, even on compassionate grounds

If that was a subtle attempt at insulting the Galloping Greens you need to be much more direct. We don't get subtlety -- we're more into the sledge hammer approach. :p

Much prefer that than the disgruntlement of overtly PC patrons.
Chez Jarse lies amongst the leafy northern suburbs, not the working class valleys of coogee

Fair cop.

References have been removed, but for your information, it is not my favourite name for that oval. I have personally used the "officially approved" name for that park on over 50 occasions. The name that shall no longer be used had been used in single digits. Hardly my favourite name for that location.

I will no longer use that name here, but like those that refer to Randwick and Warringah as the "Green you know whats", it will not stop others that frequently use that term to refer to that location, or those teams.

You may not recall me "using many of the terms quoted", but I can assure you that they have all been used by me on more than one occasion, and by many others as well. I can also assure you that there are many twee terms in my lexicon that I did not use in the list in the OP.

As the family of Charles Forshaw may not be impressed by my now retracted humour, I am not all that impressed by your attempts at humour to assume that I am one of the Coogee Oval Gallopers, and the Gallopers may similarly not be all that impressed with you insinuating about my association with them.

BTW: for those easily offended, there are 5 posts on here that use the term k*****r, 7 using the word n****r, over 50 c***t posts and > 150 f**k. None of them by me.

The Gay Gordons, haven't heard that for a while. Thought I was one of the last people left who called them that.;)

When it was too wet at School for Phys Ed to be done outside, we had to learn the Gay Gordons, Strip the Willow, Waltz, quick step, Foxtrot, and several other dances with names that have been forgotten.l

Hugh, we'd be happy to have you. We'll take anyone who supports club rugby and enjoys the running version of same.
That has not gone unnoticed by anyone who has spent time browsing through Rugby News looking for where the previous District representative players have gone to now that they have finished school.:)
