With the NSW Gen Blue U20's now out of the running for the Final, it will be interesting to see how the clubs deal with the balance of the Class of 2015 State and National players who were in the state U20s, especially those who haven't been seen in Coltland yet.

A couple of clubs are sailing very close to the wind with respect to Player Points based on team sheets submitted so far. A couple of 6 point players rocking up in round 3 may tip them over the limit.

Wicks have named 5 in Colts1 (player points???):
Hayson, Molloy, Latinipulu, Pirrodi, Tarogi
Harrison Goddard is on the bench for 2nd grade
Fifita and Chapman not selected

Looks like the corporation have named 6 according to the lists on rugby news......... will indeed be an interesting points tally

The player points worry is not Under 20 players per se but Under 20s who were in Aust Barbars or Aust Schoolboys last year and are not former local village club players. These players represent 6 player points. Under 20s in their 2nd year of Colts footy who were not Aust Schoolboys in 2014 like Jack Maddocks or jack Hayson will only be 1 point players. Go figure.

That being said, the official team sheets on the web site are a bit of a Dog's breakfast with some teams apparently not playing 15 players, or players with no player point assessments etc.

For Eastwood this week:

Lachie Burland (NSW Gen Blue U20s extended squad) starting in colts 1. (Does extended squad count? Or only those who have played a game. What if they have played only one game, for example?)

Ed Craig (NSW Gen Blue U20s 2nd hooker) starting in 2nd Grade.

Not even close in my Round 2 Form Guide. Only 2/6.

The Tip-O-Meter has been sent to the repair shop for recalibration hence the late tips this week.

Round 3:
North v East. Match of the Round. North by 10-15

Far West v North West. Woodies by a large number.

MMM v Gordon. There will be some tomato sauce spilt but Gordon will emerge as victors by 15+.

West v More West. Match of the Round #2. M2B will have to chase down a lead but will win by 10-15.

Beaches v Inner West. Match of the Round#3. The U20's rock stars are back and all eyes will be on the Player Points Count. The Gallopers wont be happy with last weeks efforts, neither will the
Corporation be happy to leak 20 points to the Emus. Defence will be optional in this 35 all draw.

South v North East. Match of the Round #4. Rats were impressive last week, and Hobbits have shown that they can grind out a victory. At their home in The Shire, the Hobbits should be able to sneak home by 14 points with a scoreboard flattering intercept try after the siren.

I reckon they need to introduce a points cap in the registration process.
No club can register more than X points in any one year.
You could even fine tune it by permitting higher points for clubs which finished lower in the previous season.

Result in 2nd grade Colts match between Souths & Warringah is incorrect - Souths won 8-5 in a thriller. Warringah had a kickable penalty to level the game with only seconds left, but bravely chose the 'Japan Gambit' and went for the line-out and the possible win. The Souths defence was solid, repelling a number of desperate charges by the Rats, and a final knock-on saw the home team come away with the points.

According to the ground announcer at Sydney Uni on Saturday, Uni Colts1 lead 36-0 before Wicks came home with a late rush. Anyone have any details on the game?

Probably need to get my eyes checked. The NSWRU web site confirms the score was 8-5 to the home team. I will amend the OP.

Sounds like a good olde schoole ding dong battle.

Edit: Error was not mine because the colts club championship points from Saturday night have also been changed. I have had to amend that original post as well

Error was definitely not yours, so no need to rush off to the optometrist just yet! There must have been an error in the original submission to the NSWRU, which was then corrected fairly promptly.

Snip.

Who is going to do a Henry Hutchison and Latu Latunipulu and bypass Colts straight for Grade Rugby in their first year out of School?

Harrison Goddard on the bench for Wick's First Grade against the Emus this week following his appearance form the pine in 2nd Grade last week.

A great effort to make a first grade debut in his first year out of school.
Each year there are only about 3 or 4 players who achieve this.

Not sure what appearance Goddard made in 2nd Grade last week because his name doesn't appear on any of the Wix Team Sheets, in any of their 7 Teams across Grade and Colts, on the NSW RU Web site from the Round 3 games between Randi-Wix and The Corporation.

Maybe that is a typo, like some of the incorrect Player Points values.
