Your comprehensive round preview

Div 1

HH
– Waverley. Match of the round. Match of every division. Id imagine people will leave their own grounds to watch this one. HH have come out of the gates very strong. Both teams have very good talent across the park, taking the home side just because they are home.
Drummoyne – Mosman. Drummoyne appear to be missing some talent this year to keep up in Kentwell. Mosman appear to have gained some talent this year. Mosman have a lot of points in them and could reach near 50 in their backline is on.
Newport – Lindfield. Grudge match, expect a high level of ‘banter’ on the sidelines this week. Both sides can give it, but neither can take it. Id imagine a very sour losing side come 5pm on Saturday. Ive gone with the home side with the opposition getting caught up in the antics in far left corner.
Colleagues – Blue Mountains. Mountains remain strong, Colleagues may still be a bit rusty with only a big loss to HH under their belt. Will see if the recruits for Colleagues can stand up to the power of Mountains.

Div 2

Petersham
– St Pats. Petersham looking stronger this year, St Pats less so. Petersham to continue their run and St Pats looking down the barrel of Div 3.
Briars – Irish. Contest between a strong forward pack and an electric backline. Weather might determine this game. Briars to run down Irish with two tries late to win it.
UNSW – Forest. UNSW have been getting lucky so far this year winning by 50 points always comes down to luck. A strong team for the last few years, I can see them continuing this run.

Div 3

Beecroft
– LCOI. Beecroft too strong in 1’s. Lock in a Beecroft Hills GF already.

Hornsby – Blacktown. Blacktown may wish they only went up to Div 5 or 4. A good team but not able to stay with these teams for the full 80 minutes. Hornsby to get the ball rolling for 2025

Hills – Knox. Hills don’t have depth, but they have a good 1’s team that never seem to age. Knox will match it in the forwards but be burnt out wide.

Div 4

Wakehurst
– Balmain. Game of the round for Div 4. Wakehurst to take the chocolates at home after Balmain had a training run last week.

Mac Uni – Chatswood. Mac Uni only wanted to attack last week. A few ‘attempts’ at tackling seemed like Under 8’s stuff. Chatswood to win.

St Ives – Kings. St Ives to stay top of the table against a resurging Kings. St Ives appear to have some talent across the park.

And as Crusher would say - Who cares above Div 5 and 6

Div two predictions

Petersham Vs Pats
Pats need this one badly but Petersham will get the job done here, setting up a big game next week vs Uni. Shammies 30-22

Briars Vs Irish
Irish coming off a big loss will be keen to get back in the winners circle, how much does a 50 point loss affect a team, we will soon find out. Briars in a close one 21-19

UNSW vs Forest
Forest should pose a challenge to the students this week, can they limit Unis attack, if they can it might be tighter than people predict. Uni will win, but forest will put up a strong fight. UNSW 21-14

Who cares above Div 5 and 6

Well there are more clubs and more teams in Div 5 than Div 4, so I guess someone has to :)

Div 5 Tips
Maccabi v Hawkesbury Valley - HVRU to continue their unbeaten run on the back of their stalwarts. Maccabi are no mugs so it should be entertaining.

Renegades v Raptors - got 40+ available this week and didn't find a Halligan Cup game, so we'll have numbers at least. Raptors team sheets vary week to week so you never know quite how they're going to look. Backing the boys at home.

Harlequins v Epping - Quins travelled last week when they weren't expecting to, having had 2 weeks off. They'll be stronger at home and Epping will be a challenge. Falling off the fence onto the home side here.

Canterbury v Redfield - ROBRs have started the season on fire and are winning by an average of 16 points. A trip to Wills won't faze them.

Once again, 2 home, 2 away. We'll see I guess.
